I happened to stumble upon this game through another forum and thought I'd share it with you all.
Overgrowth is a ninja rabbit fighting game developed by Wolfire Games, an independent group of four guys. It is the spiritual successor to Lugaru and will be based on a new game engine developed by Wolfire Games themselves, called, the Phoenix Engine. Here's a couple of light-heartened videos the developers have released to help explain the concept behind Overgrowth. Please note that these videos are several years old; the game has progressed rapidly since then. Now this is what I call marketing: The developers are constantly releasing new videos to show how the game is progressing on a weekly basis. Here are a few of my favorite videos they've since released, showcasing Overgrowth's unique and interesting features. Here's their blog: Wolfire Games Blog And here's their YouTube channel: ‪WolfireGames's Channel‬‏ - YouTube |

I've been following the development of this game since a year or so and it's looking better and better! They have some sweet animation system and the graphics are rather pretty too. So yeah I'm excited to see where it goes

There is only one unforgivable lie That is the lie that says, This is the end, you are the conqueror, you have achieved it and now all that remains is to build walls higher and shelter behind them. Now, the lie says, the world is safe.? The Great Khan.
40k is deep like that. |

I've been watching this on IndieDB for a few months now. They look like they are doing some pretty awesome things, although I am not really that into melee combat games. If they release that toolset to the public sometime down the road, people could create some great games. It looks like a triple-a engine.

Been following this as well and it's looking fun. It reminds me a bit of Star Wars Galaxies for some reason.
Except furry. xD |

This 'game' is already quite fun, even in its current state. I put a video together to showcase how fluid the combat is already - I can't wait to see how the weapon system is expanded, and especially can't wait until some mods develop around this engine - I can see a Matrix or Dragon Ball Z mod fitting perfectly with many of the gameplay mechanics that already exist in Overgrowth.
Here's the latest alpha update video. Local multiplayer was also added a few updates ago as a prototype for the actual thing (co-op and PvP). I imagine both a strong multiplyer component along with a dedicated community making custom content and mods will be integral to Overgrowth's success (much like Minecraft) - if either of those things aren't there, it's appeal won't be very far-reaching. |
