It's your internet connection that is losing data packets on the way to the server, or back. Possible cause is that your connection speed is too fast in relation to the quality of the cabling ("the last mile"). Or one of your operator's network equipments is misbehaving. Or your operator has overbooked/over-sold their network capacity.

One of the tools you can use to solve this kind of issue is PingPlotter, but you'd better to ask someone with network knowledge to interpret the results as they can be misleading.

try with manually updateing punkbuster (

try to remember if you changed anything back then - it might be related
what is your network setup/topology/internet connect - list all devices and their dependencies
check your router if its having problem, maybe try to update the firmware

if you havent found the red sticky about those issues, here it is:

Got a PROBLEM? Check this: PR:BF2 Installation Guide

Got a common QUESTION? check here first: PR:BF2 FAQ, MUMBLE FAQ

"Hello, IT! ... Yes, have you tried turning it on and off again?"
