Sometimes i like playing alone, not as a squad member. Some servers are ok with this, you dont get kicked. Sometimes, playing alone is better than a squad member, if u know how to play alone.
I made this topic for the people out there who like playing alone from time to time. I might not be in a squad, but im on a team. So that means, i still need to work togheter with other squads/players to achieve victory. Its just like, you dont need to follow orders, you are your own boss. What i like to do is: - Recon for closing up squads. When i feel like playing hide and seek, i go recon. Im lucky because i got a good understanding of the battle and the battlefield. So i know what is going to happen next, where our friendlies are going to move/attack. So, when i recon i move in front of the squaads and scout the area. I try not to engage the enemy if i have bad cover, or i know im going to get shot back at. After scouting, i report to the squads moving towards my position, i retreat back to them and advance with them and support. - Supporting other squads. If i get my hands on a medic-kit, specialist, or what ever, i try to find a squad and support them. I try to be close to more than 1 squad at a time, so i can run back and forward to support them. U might think, what can 1 man do when both squads are under attack. Well, there are so many things u can do, u have no idea. U can revive fallen medics, u can give support fire with mgs etc, u can take the truck back to base and come back with supplies if a squad is bussy building a FB, etc. - Ambushing, flanking etc. From own experience, flanking in big numbers always fails. There is always that or this guy who cant sneak and he gets spotted and your entire flanking movement fails. Alone is much easier to stay hidden and sneak around, or if its a city map its much easier to run alone and flank an enemy position, than running with a full squad where a soldier might get hit and the entire squad needs to regroup, revive, heal up and keep running. So yeah, there are so many things a loner can do. Few things i forgot: if in a rush, drop gear if a squad needs it. Dunno any more atm, but im sure you guys got some more tips. In a squad i might get scores of 10kills and 5+ deaths. While alone i can easily get 10kills and 1-2 deaths. |

Yes, why not. But doing so there You do weaken Your teams ability to work on the team objective in a decisive and organized manner. And that, unfortuntly, is what matters the most in Project Reality. Therefore, the lesson to understand is that often the effectiveness of a single unit is not as important as the achievements of a group. And at last.. well, check my signature.

Project Reality is NOT about your KDR.
Simple As - there's NO place for a Lone wolf in PR, and those who do it are making their team worse. It's not about YOU, it's about your team - the fact that you think lone wolfing is ok shows that you don't know what PR is all about. |

Intel is the key to everything, whether it be helicopter hovering in distance, apc driving around or squad attacking, 1 guy telling them whats going on is 500% better than 12 guys just ignoring them.

There is a place for a small recon/ambush/quick-reaction unit in every game.
Often it is more usefull to have a small unit to do special tasks (keeping paths clear, getting intel, cutting off resupplies, and so on) than a whole squad. Thing is that it has to be something usefull for the team that the small group is doing...not just point-whoring. |

please trust me, if you know how to play as a lone wolf you will be the left hand of any defensive/attacking squad. and i do not care bout me, as a lone wolf with medic kit i managed to keep my ENTIRE team alive at a FB while we were defending, under constant fire.
You sig shows a loner alone, and behind him 2 insurgents. Trust me, it has never happened to me, only cases i die as a lone wolf is while i do my best to support squads. And yes, small forces of recon are good in PR if you really want to play with squads. I sometimes make squads that can move fast, strike hard and retreat without even loosing a man. But problem is, its hard to find such players that understand the way of a lone wolf and how to play it. If u think that im thinking just bout me, that i get a good score, you are wrong. If u read again, i wrote that even if ur not in a squad, you are in a TEAM, which u must help to achieve victory. And lol i understand why the big hate on lone wolves. Most of them are rly bad at playing alone and just cost the team tickets. |

Duck - if you don't understand why Lone Wolfing is wrong you never will... by lone wolfign you're going against everything PR stands for, and everything the Devs have worked ahrd to achieve.
