Yup.

Heres also a less good documentary, with "the dude" walking around reacting to things in north korea.
Not anywhere as factual as the one above, but still worth a watch for the people he meets. Strange country.

North Korean propaganda cartoon for children. Scary thing is it resembles quite a bit of the old disney animatations

<--- Have backpacked in North Korea.

Well just Pygonang and Kaesong. They never allowed us to leave the hostel without a guide. Though I don't blame them for requiring that because literally nothing is in English except for a few restaurants near the embassies.

I think in a decade or two that might change as the guides I talked to said North Korea is currently structuring a tourism economy similar to Laos and aimed at low-budget western backpackers.

Well about my trip. Often it was just running around downtown and checking out the landmarks (including the American War museum), chatting with the guide, eating ridiculously cheap meals and then back to the hostel's bar and getting hammered on Taedonggang (no one I knew could pronounce the name so we just called it ten-gang and the locals understood )

Though it wasn't just me there were other blokes from Canada, Europe and tons of Russians, but I didn't encounter any young American backpackers.

Beer was like 40-50 cents Canadian, so in terms of price its more or less the same as beer lao (though Taedonggang is better tasting)

"Revolutionary" armed forces. "Democratic" people's republic of korea. One thing i will always by fascinated by is... What those fat bastard commie leaders think creating names like those.
