im sorry if this has already been sugested but cant seem to see it on the ass or find on a search which is suprising

not sure how this would work best but i got 3 similar ideas on is to change uniform of british soldiers to SAS or better make a complete new faction for them or even make a dedicated squad for them this could also work for other factions this is my fav idea because (not sure if posible) you could have a dedicated sas squad with 4 people able to join. this squad could be only people eligable for 4 new kits with only one of each kit avaliable.

i got most of my ideas from the SAS Suvival Secrets tv series if anyone is woundering about my source

first of all im gonna talk about the kits

lead scout
demolitions expert
patrol medic (says hes also sniper not sure on this one better idea for this later)
and finaly patrol commander

next the main weapons for these kits (all have iron sights)

lead scout - minimi
demolitions expert - m16 M203
patrol medic - m16 M203 (not sure needs m203 for pr)
patrol commander - m16

side arms
all - ether Browning 9mm or sig sauer p226

instead of the SL or in this case patrol commmander placing a rally call it RV and dont have the bags and person canot change kit just resporns back at that position

veicles (not of program anymore)

land rover existing pr only problem being the version with the weapons only has 3 seats (could be replaced with the jackel if it gets into PR)
all other vehicles cant be used by the squad they have to rely in team work from others for their boat/helo instertions


OP (opservation post) basicly 2 holes in the ground nxt to each other one with l96 sniper rife as a static and one with a telescope with rangefinder and the posibility to mark target with attack icon like SL can (video from 1:30 to 1:50)

LUP just a basic fox hole but the sas use for storing equipment and 2 squad members so could have two defencive spaces acts as a ralley and can give a small amount of amunitionbut very little (video from start to about 1:30)

Special forces have been suggested over and over again and the devs have said they we won't see a special forces faction.

PR is meant to depict combat involving mainstream combat forces, without any kind of spec ops. There was a spec ops class in-game, however it was removed and generally when something is removed it will not be making a return.

Also for the future please check the Already Suggested Suggestions thread and use search before posting.

Would also suggest you check out the PMC community mod which may be to your liking.

Next time you search the [ASS] thread, press ctrl+f, then enter part of what you are looking for, 'special' and it will find all instances of that word on the page.

In this case, 'special' was found three times, in two cases they related to your suggestions.

Could this be a possibility for a map? I'm not sure if the uniforms are the same for the british sas as the regular army, but you could just switch around the kits and make a map with a realistic scenario for special forces. It could be an interesting map, i would suggest giving the specops parachutes and some type of transport aircraft so they could do an airborn insertion. Perhaps attacking a MEC main base or something that specops would realistically be used for.

But, creating a whole new faction, maps and assets for a separate SAS faction, most likely isn't a huge priority to the devs at this point. It's hard enough keeping the current factions stocked with good maps. Plus all the community factions currently being created. It would be a big waste of time for something that can currently be done with tweaking kits and assets on a map by map basis.

cheers for comments i ddnt do very good search then :P

like the idea of a spec forces map and done as community mod and badmojo i think they same or very similar

by the powah vested in me by the project reality forums I declare this thread closed!

re re re suggestion. Special forces factions, be they SAS, SEALs, Spetsnaz or Selous Scout are not happening in the forseeable future.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
