Basically, while on a vehicle mounted heavy machine gun, if its not hardcoded, allow the gunner to switch to his binoculars to scan the area. like this:
![]() Sometimes I’ll be the HMG (.50 cal M2, or 12.7mm Kord) gunner on a tank or a HMMV/Technical, and were just posted on top a mountain or some defensive ambush position waiting the impending enemy attack. I scan the horizon with the HMG and other areas the enemy may come at us. But what I feel unrealistically limited of doing –something that happens IRL- is that I can’t pull out my binoculars while still in the HMG turret. GG in advance. |

If it is hardcoded maybe have a fireing mode where you have a zoom on the iron sights but the ability to fire is taken away?

I thought the same thing when I played. They should at least try and do this with the tank as the .50 cal position is actually the Tank Commanders position.

Pulling out the binoculars is impossible. Changing zoom levels or cameras is possible. You could mount a scope on the HMG and have three cameras. One for your normal view. One for a sighted view. One for the scope view.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
