Default Grenades

Well did a quick search through ASS thread couldnt find anything.

simple idea. Add the ability (with fire modes) to swap the amount of time there is left of a fuse for a grenade, only applies to the first throw mode. So lets say you have it set to 4 seconds. This is just like ingame atm. But lets say you swap it to 3 seconds for some targets abit closer. This would simulate holding the grenade with its handle off in your hand for 1 second before your throw. The lowest would probably be 2 seconds. Saftey reasons of course. this would be useful for clearing out rooms seeing as everybody runs out as soon as u hear the grenade hit the floor.

if you miss him... try, try again

This might just be hearsay, but I always thought they strongly stressed NOT cooking grenades in the armed forces... Ill look for sources though

wiki says:
"Cooking off" is a term referring to intentionally holding onto an armed grenade after the pin has been pulled and the handle released; allowing the fuse to burn partially to decrease the time to detonation after throwing. This technique is used to reduce the ability of the enemy to take cover or throw the grenade back. It is also used to allow the grenade to burst in the air over defensive positions.[14] This technique is inherently dangerous, since fuses may vary from grenade to grenade. Because of this the U.S. Marines (MCWP 3-35) describe cooking-off as the "least preferred technique", recommending a "hard throw, skip/bounce technique" to prevent an enemy returning a grenade.

b. Aboveground detonation is especially critical when engaging bunker-type emplacements. To achieve aboveground detonation or near-impact detonation, remove the grenade’s safety pin, release the safety lever, count ONE THOUSAND ONE, ONE THOUSAND TWO, and throw the grenade. This is called cooking-off. Cooking-off expends a sufficient period (about 2 seconds) of the grenade’s 4- to 5-second delay. This causes the grenade to detonate above ground or shortly after impact with the target. Do not cook-off fragmentation or white phosphorous hand grenades when in training.

Use cook-off procedure only when in a combat environment.

i heard it was strongly discouraged becasue some times the fuses can be a little random, like a 5 second fuse really is 3....and if you cook a grenade like that then bad things will happen

its a good feature for run n guns like cod4 though

Cooking of grenades is only used in games and movies, although some troops may do it, it is very few, ones the spoon is released no one ever goes near a grenade. The fuse length is unknown, or may be defective or malfunction.

Standard grenade fuses are usually around 8 seconds, in most games they shorten it to 5 seconds already so people have a harder time running from it.

this is hardly an issue, the fuse is encased within the fuse well, you will not feel much of the heat.
