does your pc reboot on its own in occasions?
do you have this on other games/applications?
what are your system specs?
do you see a blue screen flicker for maybe half a second?

- install latest grafics drivers
- make sure your pc is not overheating

other than that: a hardware component might be dying, possibly mobo

fyi: the monitor shuts off because it does not get a video signal - which means its a pretty bad problem you got there, from gfx card failing to bus or ram, could be everything, imho

Got a PROBLEM? Check this: PR:BF2 Installation Guide

Got a common QUESTION? check here first: PR:BF2 FAQ, MUMBLE FAQ

My monitor is a flatscreen "Syncmaster 2220WM"
I get a similar thing as you Roddi, what monitor you have? Only Im able to play for a couple of hours at least before it happens. My monitor will go black, yet I did not touch any cables. I push the "source" button on my monitor and it says "check signal cable" or something like that. I unplug and replug but no luck. Only way to fix it is to restart the computer. I run PR graphics at medium. Only other times this happens is when I use the USB port dock on the front of my computer. I also get CTD at least every other day. I hate my computer . Still its only about 14 months old. (Too old for PR??)
System specks:

WIN xp pro SP3
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
E8400 @ 3,00 GHz
3,00 GHz, 3,25 GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT

Do you recommend an upgrade? Would defragmenting help? Should I return my computer for repairs?
Help appreciated thanks.

And you fixed it by getting a new video card?

Cheaper to 'mod' your PC. drill a hole in the cover across from the video card the size of a fan + 4 small holes for the mounting screws. Hell why your at it put one in across from the cpu if it doesn't have one already. Fans are cheep $3.00US?
