Default [Question] Mec army?

I did a brief search before posting this.

Is the MEC faction equivalent to the US Army or will there be a faction split into the MEC army and the MEC marines?

If this has been asked and answered lock plz.

I'd like to see them have a sub faction; perhaps one of dedicated Urban fighters issued lower caliber weapons with kits geared up towards CQC.

Since it is totally fictitious it does give you several posibilities.

You could have the main army, using top of the line equipment like T90s, BTR90s, AT vodniks, attack helis, etc.

And you could have a MEC reserves army group equiped with older equipment like BMP3s, normal vodniks, not so powerful HAT kit and a few AKs thrown in instead of all G3s. Maybe SVD for marksman, make one/two more marksmen available and remove the sniper kit? This lot would have NO tanks AT ALL, but would rely solely on the BMP3, making them more suited to defending built up areas and really not capable of holding their own against the BLUFOR tanks in the open desert.

The reserve forces would be more fitting on maps like Jabal or Ejod, where the MEC have no tanks but are defending and near a built up area. While in the open desert of kashan the regular MEC forces would fit better.

It would be nice to have more weapon systems for them anyway. Like the m113, kh2002, amx30, BRDM2 with better optics to act better as a scout, and maybe a few others so that mappers can choose different vehicles to the T90 and BTR90 that is almost the only things the MEC forces use and possibly to replace the rifle of one kit for some more variation.

yeah the MEC is formed of diffrent counries therfore id imagine they would have diffrent weapons but fire the same round as NATO does. is the FN FAL used much in the middle east and some aks, all varients could be thrown in for variation

basicly not that a bad idea, but making it a plz give the MEC the AK back thread IS a bad idea.
=> i support it, as long as they do not get a AK, but any other lighter European rifle (Like the HK33)

yea the MEC army could be split up just like the allied forces are right now with all the community factions etc, I mean we have so many community NATO factions - canadians, brits, germans, polish...

We cant split it into countries, because the DEVs will not allow it as it could be thought of as a political statement of some sort. Although I personally dont see how the US fighting EVERY mid-east country is any better.

No AK, how about the G3 (scoped), the SVD and the KH2002(irons)? They are all used in the area I think.

EDIT:
Would need model of the KH2002 to be done, and the M113 unless we can find one or decide not to use it. New gunner HUD for BRDM2 would also help and it would need a little more zoom in the gunner seat.

Not that much to do really.
