could use HIMARS armoured rocket platforms instead. (tanks with rockets) fire them in the same way we generate coordinates for mortars. that being the option for a specific target bombardment. but when it comes to aircraft, iron bombs and napalm all the way.

We should have attack markers with very visible smoke.

Perhaps you can mark friendly positions with smoke and then tell the CAS platform to "hit such and such near such and such land mark, 250m W of friendly's marked by smoke"? Or perhaps Flares shot over enemy positions? I have no clue how commen they are (having difficulty find sources) but here is a link and a quote.

(Well maby not the smoke, forgot about the smoke bug thing for pilots)

Images and types of flares also in the page linked.

Another option is to have the CAS aircraft shoot a few rounds from its gun at a target that was called in and "walk" the aircraft on to the target. this could also help prevent freindly fires.

As long as you use bright pink smoke, it looks cool.

I think they used carpet bombing a lot with napalms and stuff, they would just bomb the shit out of the area and hope they killed something, same as in WWII.
