Default Masirah

We are pleased to announce that a new map will be featured in the next content patch for Project Reality.

Masirah, based on the real life location of the same name, is a map by Rabbit that has been sitting on the bench for a while. Thanks to some free time during lockdown we've been able to bring the map up for inclusion.

Aside from a new locale we're also introducing some new gameplay features. Main bases for both teams are, currently lacking a proper model, a Mistral class lookalike carrier situated outside of the map, similar to Falklands. It will be up to both French and MEC teams to utilise their air and waterborne assets to reach the mainland.

To deal with base protection in outside terrain we've now implemented a Python-based DOD system coded by
[R-DEV]AlonTavor that replaces the vanilla DOD system which otherwise doesn't work in outside terrain. The end result is roughly a 6x4km playable area seen below with adequate base protection for both teams.

Nice!!
With this concept of no fixed landbase for both teams, I think CnC would actually be a very valid and interesting gamestyle.

Maybe cool to test with a dedicated event?

Interesting map, would be interesting to see the flag layouts regarding to the carrier locations.

It will take forever for amphibious vehicles to reach the shore and from there, the frontline. Consider this.

Also, I suggest swapping MEC for China, MEC is overused and widely disliked. Besides, China is about to get 2 new LHDs.

That is why BMP-2M has 10 minute respawn time.
