Hello PR:Forums,
I've been an avid player for a while and love everything about this game. However, I've had to change my computer recently and I've been trying to get PR:BF2 to work on it and it appears to be quite hard for a reason. I've installed the last version on another machine that works like a charm, however I wanted to also install it on my side-PC. I've installed it multiple times from both the v1.5.0.0 & v1.6.0.0 installation media and it just won't work. I'm trying to install the game in my DATA partition (i.e. D:\) which is different from the default "C:\Program Files (x86)" path. For some reason the game seems to be having trouble with reading/writting the files in the "C:\Users\XXXXX\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles" . I've been trying to launch it through both an online/steam account and an offline account but it doesn't seem to work on either. Once I open the launcher (trough the Desktop Icon or the Launcher located at "D:\DATA\Project Reality BF2\mods\pr\bin". I've verified that both of those files are run with administrative privileges and UAC check. I've also tried to launch the game in both the v1.6.0.0 clean install mode and the updated v1.6.2.2 and once I click on "PLAY" the game tries to launch with the screen going black on "full screen mode" and after 10 seconds it closes and a message says "PR:BF2 has closed, cleaning up resources..." Other times it crashes after the login prompt has been recieved with the message: "Critical Error An unhandled exception has occured. Details are as follows: Could not find file 'C:\Users\XXXX\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\l ogin.cookie'. Further Dretails can be found in the following file: D:\DATA\Project Reality\BF2\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.log Please report this error to the Project Reality Team, and include the log file in your report. Visit Support Forum" I attach the respective log. ------------- Code:
