I do want to clearify that i wouldn't propose that a chinook would be able to carry the real life amount of troops in PR. I'm simply asking why the differents between some helo's is so small troop carry wise. For example the chinook and the uh1n have only one passenger more or less then the other. Really weird when you have such a big helo like the chinook compared to the much smaller uh1n. I have no problem with limitations on the amount of seats just the difference between some helo's.
People can say wel it's not fair to be able to transport half or the whole team with one helo but when you even the odds by making it easier for the other team to take it down, cause in that case the helo using team is super fucked! So there has to be that balance. You can use that big ass helo and transport a lot of troops but without cover or an escort, you're fucked i.o.w. high risk high reward and low risk low reward.

ps: transporting a vehicle (small jeeps, etc) with the chinook isn't an option?

A chinook isn't, shouldn't and normally can not be used as a fighting asset. The thing is to big and bulky to be an effectieve fighting asset. One rpg in the belly and down she goes. In real life no shinook normally flies without an escort and ideally the LZ is already secured and has overwatch so the chinook can drop it's cargo safely (at least safe as possible). I don't understand why this can't be implemented in PR. If people don't want the chinook to be used as an fighting asset then you should look at why it isn't used as an fighting asset in real life and why it would be used like that in PR. Compare the 2 and i think you can get even closer to reality then you think, with spawntimes, armor amount on the helo etc.

Off course and i've been a soldier in a combat unit for 7. First armored infantry and later the recon platoon of that brigade. So a lot of knowledge that i want to use to help you guys, cause PR and the people behind it have my respect and admiration for what you're doing and already have accomplished! I can't wait for V1.6 but these thinks bugged me and i couldn't directly find a thread on it.

Despite all the work we put into this game, this is still a mod for an engine that we do not have the source code for

Its done in such a hacky way and we're uncapable of doing 1P or 3P soldier animations with it. Carrying vehicles is something I want to do but it wont be done any time soon.

For flight physics, look for rpoxo on discord. But don't expect it to be simple.
Flight physics is about adjusting variables and components, not writing algorithms. We do not have the source code to do that.


Also you don't have to keep trying to post when the auto anti-spam kicks in, we'll approve them.

Well to quote myself "A chinook isn't, shouldn't and normally can not be used as a fighting asset". So if it's possible to be used as such in PR, then something's off. Maybe the respawn time, the general usability (if it can't be used effectively the way it's supposed to be used, the thought may rise of just throwing it in there or something) or to hard to take down. I don't know what but something's off if that's how it's used.

Haha not quite what i imagined but it's something . But i was thinking more like driving a jeep in the chinook.

Yeah sorry, my bad. I tried to post it and didn't see my post after an hour or so, so i tried again and i saw the text that says that you guys need to approve it first. To impatiant on my part.
