Most hype I think is around the new AMD graphics (for the general consumer).

I saw some leaked Skylake specs and they were pretty disappointing. Why innovate when you have no competition? (Cough cough AMD)

It's true unless you need more PCI lanes it seems pretty pointless if you're happy with your system, DDR4 is hardly any quicker if at all than DDR3.
Apparently no native USB 3.1 either.

Really hope AMD can catch up but PR is a horrible example of a game that doesn't like AMD.

Well next to nothing for us from Intel at Computex, next big show is the Intel Developers Forum (IDF) August 18 in San Francisco.

I have read that they'd like to launch it to the public after the September back to school, so suppliers can clear the stocks of Haswell systems.

This is the most important news to me. I can finally connect full desktop graphics card to laptops or NUC type barebones without any compromise.

In Taipei Intel unveiled Thunderbolt 3 marking the biggest advancement since the technology's inception. Thunderbolt 3 brings Thunderbolt to USB-C at 40Gbps. A single cable now provides four times the data and twice the video bandwidth of any other PC cable. Initial products with Thunderbolt 3 are expected to start shipping before the end of this year, and ramp in 2016.
