Default Remove Night Maps

Night maps have been requested forever in PR, and now that they are here people have realised that they are not worth it. They were neat during BF2:Special Forces, due to the neat equipment and NVGs, but NVGs do not exist in PR.

The evening maps are fine for the flare effects and gun flashes, but full on night maps, such as Goose Green Inf, physically hurt people.

Bump.
Night maps allow an opportunity for exploits (gamma boosting). If night maps are going to stay, there should be an incentive preventing exploitation of features. Perhaps rural night maps should be saturated with more light sources i.e burning vehicles / oil fields or periodic artillery flare-barrages. Would that do anything to mitigate the advantages of playing with increased gamma? What's the performance cost?

It would be worth exploring how a map's light sources influence the effects of gamma boosting.

Are NVGs and PEQs not possible with the BF2 engine?

NVGs are but would require a rework from how they used to work. Not sure about PEQs.

What is exactly the problem? Maps are usually set in a process of voting, so if people truly don't want the night maps, then they won't get any, that simple. Thus, removing them doesn't have any sense.
