Default Can not hear gun SHOTS, only impacts? (Small arms)

Hey folks!

During firefights I cant really hear the guns of other players...

Today for example I was playing with Rudd, we were shooting eachother infront of the feet and only heard the impacts, its like using Paint ball guns!

Anybody else got that problem? I think it has to do with custom magazines or something...

Thanks in advance, bye!

Do you have a Creative X-Fi sound card?

I have X-Fi Sound card. CMSS3D ON or OFF does not matter. :-/ I tried with other people. It is rather random. It seems to me that the volume values in the weapon configs are not set right... Default BIS values might interfere with custom PR values.

Configs are fine. Try disabling EAX and SVM.

Aight.

SVM is always off, EAX... I will try. Reinstalling everything right now so it will take a while.

Did you guys have no such problems at all when testing? :-/ I dont mean it in a bad way, I just wanna know if you are sitting like "wtf is he talking about" or like "mhhh... had something kinda like that when testing".

It seems after re-installing and putting "soundEnableHW=1" into my profile file has solved the problem. I dont know... But yesterday on TG server I heard a LOT of gun fire compared to the rest of my play time. I will do some more "testing" today...

Arma uses the XAudio2 internal engine of Windows. If you are on XP ... I have no idea what the fuck it does though I am afraid. No dedicated sound cards with hardware enabled processing will work. Enabling the facilities for hardware processing will cause odd sound situations like weapons appearing up close and no directional information.

On the XFi-Titanium card, if you disable SVM and EAX in your profile then surround will work fine and so will distance attenuation.
