Just wanna say congrats on being smoke-free for 5 years! That's a huge accomplishment. Quitting smoking can be a real struggle, especially when it comes to the chemical addiction to nicotine and the habitual behavior of lighting up in certain situations.

I smoked cigarettes from age 14 to 22. Quit for 5 years, now I'm 27 smoking again for 3 months almost and want to quit.

Last time I quit, it took me a few tries, I smoked my last 3 cigarettes then quit in May 2018 at exactly 10 AM.

Everything you do smoking cigarettes you now have to get used to not smoking. I worked out a lot, started running, paintballing. Changed my routine, my diet. In 2 weeks I was fully quit.

Look at it this way, when you smoke cigarettes you can only get women who smoke or tolerate it. But when you don't smoke you can get all women.

1 Man per piece of cover, Move cover to cover. In view of each other to save each other by shooting, distraction, division of enemy attention and ammo. 1 man hit per RPG/tank shell/mortar spread formation full time. Edge of cap zone. Use camouflage, police up each others exposure, no man seen sticking out. Scan aggressively with eyes and ears for anything suspect, even for birds disturbed to fly out of trees

My addictions come in response to emotional triggers and stimuli. Find what caused the addiction in the first place and make peace with it.

Just stopped smoking about month ago, thanks to bupropion and finding how dependent my actions were because of nicotine. Now I don't feel better, but somehow free, and in control. However I still like smell of smoke around anyway.

I have seen medicated chewing gums that have nicotine as an alternative to smoking. Maybe try those.

I hope and think it is safe to say this is my second time having quit cigarettes. I have gone 24+ hours without one. I quickly went through the process of doing everything I normally do without smoking cigarettes. Walking, playing game, waking up, before shower, after shower, before eat, after eating, before shaving, after shaving, working, taking a break. That is how you break the habit.

Really only discomfort for me is shakes and feeling need to grit my teeth.

2nd time quit August 3rd 2023 at 27, almost 28 years old.

1st time quit May 21st 2018 at 22 years old for 5 years

1st day smoking cigarettes in my life was June 25th 2010 when I was 14 years old.
