Default Memorial Day

Ok, I just want to make this post to honor those who fought in a war.
Sometimes, we play these war games and forget about what actually goes down in a real battlefield -- the loss of actual lives, no respawns or immediate medic epipen revival.
Project Reality has simulated the palpable aspects of war, but we can't forget implicit emotions of real warriors.
So thank you to all who have served.
and cheers

Moved to off-topic.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Today is Memorial Day in the US.

Going to be going to a parade later; I like to fly an American flag today as well, even though my friends think it's silly.

Anyways, yes, great respect to all those who served and died, both American and foreign.

For those who have given the last full measure so that we may enjoy the many blessings of our freedom, rest in peace. Your job is done.

That's Veterans day.

The 2 holidays are fairly similar though.

Memorial day is honoring those who have died in war, and thanking those who are serving and have served.

While Veterans day is honoring and thanking those that served and are serving. Not necessarily those who have died.

I think that's a very appropriate quote.

Also, a picture of the flag I brought out down by the lake:

It had been sitting wrapped up for about 20 years, I thought now was a good time to take it out.

Oh, in the UK we just have Remembrance Day which is like your Memorial Day, it's on 11/11.
