Default How to keep your PC from getting fried?

Recently my PC got fried by a technician, during changing of the power supply unit(PSU). As soon as he attached the new PSU, it short-circuited and fried the PSU, later he checked and said the processor and the mother-board are dead.

I said it was before i brought to the shop, i know he fucked it up. I have 4 voltage/current protections, one on the power board, then UPS(uninterrupted power supply), the PC's power supply, and the motherboard itself has one.

Thanks!

What are your thoughts on this?

Flip the switch off before you plug it in?
