Not as long as they're done right. Cameras have been used in armored vehicles for a while now, for remote weapon stations.

Yes, but I suppose those are ''armored'' and those are probably the ones mentioned in the video; he says military grade cameras cost around 100.000 euros. He says the ones used here are civilian cameras that cost 500 euros each.

He could have been talking about the whole camera system, which involves a rig for the camera to look around, similar to CROWS, the cabling, the remote controls, screen, etc. With the oculus right all you need are the cameras and the oculus and the onboard PC.

Cars usually have windows but some cars have a camera for the rear view already.

500 euros for a "civilian" camera is high, it's nearly the price of a Canon reflex.

The other problem with those civilian cameras is they are not designed to work with a rough environnement such as high temp, high rh.

The qualifaction of components used in miltary is almost the same as the space industry.
