How long can it take to export somthing from max? Cause i not sure is it only me beening impatient or somthing is fuck up.

Check the lightmap samples settings. Don't let it be on auto ever. This will takes ages for large statics.

It took about 15 seconds on my old crappy dell laptop...

i do have a static with like 9 materials and 10k polys for lod0 (no lods or cols yet) and it already takes about half a minute to export, just be patient if it takes longer then like 5-10 mins sth seems to be wrong

maybe a model error or hierarchy error that might cause that

I fixed it by chaning the name of model, after i start exporting model and 3ds max get stuck and i did terminate it i was trying to remove folder with model(exported) but it keept saying me that its used by some program. So i did restart windows and again try to export same stuff and again when trying to remoe its used by some program. I just changed name and it workd all fine.

Rhino, I got the same problem. I am clueless on what the matter is.

Maybe the Runsetup?

These are my config.

Output files directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield2\mods\bf2\

/rawData/
/mods/bf2/
/mods/poe2/
/mods/bfp2_edit/

Sub-Folder path:
\staticobjects\_asia\village\village_objects\



And this is where my door lands:

Are you really wanting to export into the BF2 mod?

w/e the case, sounds like your output files dir is incorrect in one form or another.

Well yes because I don't want to create map. I just want to verify the ''Garden_Door'' I created is playable.

And BF2 take 30 second to open while PR would take 5 min each time.

While the model perfectly appears on BF2Editor , with the LODS and everything. It is invisible when I load in-game?

(Because I still was able to implement it in the editor manually)


Also, the CullRadiusScale doesn't influence the Object at all, And the object never dissapear even beyond 200


I'm done for now. I haven't succeed yet, I will try more tomorrow.. Today was instructive, I know how to texturize, make LOD's COL (not sure 100%) and yea.. The export is still not properly working tho

Aaand, when in the BF2 editor, if i try to go in Soldier Camera Mode, The editor crashes.




Also, in order to edit the Tweak file after adjusting Lods and everything, you need to go in propriety and authorization from the adminstrator to run the file.

It was not indicated in the tutorial and could block someone from successfully edit his Tweak file.
