Default Chinese hand held laser gun

Personally, I reckon it's not very usefel. I imagine windows and water refract it like crazy. Not to mention particles in the air would probably absorb some of it's power. I can hardly get my tv remote to change channels when the battery starts to go.

Handheld weapons that could set fire to targets from long distances are no longer confined to science fiction but a fact of life, according to researchers

Practicality: 1/10
Propaganda Value: 10/10
china is communist, so they go for the second one always.
sort of like COUGH COUGH someone named russia

just like the F35, china and russia immediately have their own prototypes out(propaganda value) and suddenly russia won't build more because(its not practical) "its so advanced we dont need more"

edit: apparently they claim it can burn people and pass thru windows.
If that's true, i'm quite sure they wouldn't be able to legally use it, laser-blinding weapons are banned by geneva conventions.
They also claim it's in an IR wavelength.

Beam weapons and energy weapons in general, will increasingly take over kinetic weapons.

In the first phase, which we are still in, they are primarily used as supporting weapons. In the second phase however, they will become the primary weapon. Kinetics will be forced down to the secondary role. Between the two phases both technologies will support each other.

Energy weapons are silent and for some of them also invisible to the naked eye. Contrary to kinetic weapons they have the capacity to conduct silent attacks, silent battles and silent wars. Electronic harassment campaigns, or electronic Gang Stalking, are primarily using radiobased energy weapons, working within the microwave spectrum.

In terms of Russia, China and a host of other nations, plus different non government actors, the research of these weapons is far ahead of what is portrayed to the public.

Wirefree charger technology already exist, so batteries are also starting to get obsolete.

Recent China Laser news:

Quote:
The Chinese company CPMIEC has undisclosed a new laser weapon system at AirShow China 2018. The LW-30 is a modern short-range precision laserweapon designed for tracking and destroying UAVs, light aircraft and commercial drone.
https://www.armyrecognition.com/airs...on_system.html

The LW-30 uses a high-energy laser beam to destroy targets ranging from drones and guided bombs to mortar shells. It features high efficiency, rapid response, a good hit rate and flexibility, according to CASIC.

An LW-30 combat unit is composed of one radar-equipped vehicle for communications and control on the battlefield, at least one laser gun-carrying vehicle and one logistical support vehicle.

The laser gun can be deployed with close-in weapons systems and air-defense missiles to form a defensive network free of blind spots, the company said.

It said that in a typical scenario, the LW-30's radar will scan, detect and track an incoming target before transmitting the information to the laser gun. The gun will analyze the most vulnerable part of the target and then direct a laser beam onto it. Destruction takes place in a matter of seconds.

Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.
We who play these kinds of games are the first generation of war robot pilots.Today we pilot a camera in 3D heaven,Tomorrow... http://gametactic.org/pr
