Bah hardly, the piece in the strip club is stale as hell. You either go crazy with it or just make it fully PG13.
For those who are guessing your "mission" in it is to find some popcorn, a dildo and a condom. And it ends up as being as exiting to do as doing your groceries as it feels more like a place for old grannies then an XXX club

Oh and its a dream sequence btw with the ending transition botched rhythm wise.

There are some nice little pieces like mini games bringing some interaction with the world around you. But these are so few and laid apart while having combat action as intense as pealing a potato (Frankly the 2 weapon limit + life refill dynamic killed the FPS part, which is supposed to be the main focus of the game

The whole "blame the consoles" thing is a knee-jerk and kind of silly response. I would think its more likely that the over long development time, staff changes, studio changes and the overall lack of direction on the project (starting from scratch multiple times etc) led to it being an average game.

The fact that this is considered "average" is what I blame the consoles for

*cough* Could not resist, I'm sorry. I actually have no clue about the game and found the whole idea of ever releasing it boring to begin with.

when you are making a game for both consoles and a computer you will have to dumb the game down a bit
since consoles can not achieve as much as computers

Well, one of the developers actually admitted that the reason for Duke being only able to carry two weapons were the consoles and their lack of buttons...

So after 10 hours I just finished the campaign and enjoyed it. What bugged me mainly was the strict linearity and some sections that just feel too stretched (remember those endless tunnels of zombies in Halo? Yeah like that)

Some of the levels were quite great, especially the ones where Duke is shrunk. The guns do feel "right", but I guess for some people the constant weapon switching is too much to bear. Here's hoping for a mod to change that. Boss fights disappointed me slightly as you never need a special tactic for one of them, this could definately have been better. Regular combat was great in comparison, so were the puzzle and platforming elements.

FX are good enough, with a few of the textures falling short of the rest.
Multiplayer looked fun when trying it, need a way to reduce my lag somehow though-.-
Mini games and your typical Duke humour is there and both of those deliver.

Alltogether imho its a good and fun game but not the holy grail of fps that some of us expected it to be.
