Just don't smoke.Pretty simple really.
It maybe the harshest way to quit but it is the fastest and you will never want to touch a fag again after going through it. |

@Legyia
I eat them anyway 24/7. I'm kinda addicted to them too. And 9 hours ago I smoked my last cigarette. Wish me luck. |

Forget whatever everyone else has said, I CBA to read it anyway.
Don't smoke less or use nicotine replacements or any of that shit. Just quit. It does help if you quit with someone else, as me and my GF quit at the same time and we could support each other (as if not giving yourself cancer requires support) but we didn't cut down before quitting or replace it with nicotine substitutes. Just stop. The first couple days might be tough and sure, you're going to think about smoking but that doesn't mean you need to. It's easy. People who have a hard time quitting just like smoking and don't want to quit. If you want to quit, you will. |

My "quitting smoking endeavour" didn't go to well, 2 full day of smooth sailing without cigarettes, I got tremendous headache. I hardly ever get headaches, and this one was worst I ever got.
Nonetheless I bought a pack, I couldn't handle it. And the other thing, I fell like whenever I would go drinking, I would smoke again, and I'm not willing to stop drinking with my friends just to stop smoking. Vape nation, here I come. I'm gonna be a fag, and smoke e cigs. @Smegburt funkledink, The thing you said about wanting to quit smoking is very true, I believe one has to have a need to be free of the addiction. I didn't feel burdened by it, only reason why I wanted to quit was indirect to the addiction itself. |

those vape things are not the answer, you keep being addicted to nicotine and those things still have other harmfull chemicals, the only benefits to those is your no danger to the person next to you. Just keep trying man! It not only lung cancer that can kill you in the end. Wanna end up with COPD, slowly suffocate and drag one of these along everywhere you go? ![]() Next to the obvious health benefit, think of the money you will save, if i think of the money i spent on cigs in those 15 years i smoked i could have buyed myself a very nice car! | |

glimmerman is right, if you want to stop just fucking stop.
you won't have a long life if you smoke all the time, and vaping is just as bad, just more trendy and better marketing. it is the same as a love relationship, the same as working out, the same as working. you have to keep working if you want it to continue, and it will be hard. |

I've been without smoking past 5 years. Did smoke more than 10. "Quit" more than dozen times, usually re-started again over the next 6 months.
One problem would be fighting against pure chemical addiction (nicotine), other would be getting over the habituality. When you smoke, you tend to have certain situations and locations where you generally light up your cigarette - without thinking about it. Some people have very strong chemical addiction - friend tried quitting and told me week later that he felt like he was ready to climb up the concrete walls using his fingernails (expression doesnt really translate) - for such its near impossible to really quit because you'd feel literally like shit for weeks.. If you do not have heavy nicotine addiction, it gets easier after 3-5 days and only "problem" is finding you in a situation where you would usually smoke. This would make you feel missing the cigarette very acutely. Use plain tricks like crossing a day in calendar for each day without cigarettes, date and look for girls who despise smoking and smokers, replace smoking with alternative activity - NOT candys ffs (you would gain 20kg in no time if you did - quitting smoking results in weight gain anyway).. Best times would be a) going to vacation, outside your normal pattern of activities b) when being ill. c) betting against substantial sum you would regret to lose over sufficiently long period (without cigarettes for a year or lose 10k euros - example) Do not try cigarette again months later, thinking you are now free of the habit - it's really easy to start smoking again. Some have the ability to smoke pack one day at stressful work and be without next two weeks - they are very rare. Most get hooked again and have to start working with "quitting" from zero. |
