nice start, but I think is better to make the lowpoly first, check all proportions, details etc then increase the polycount, otherwise every change will be a pain

furthermore i think its easier...

as long as you keep these "incredibly long thin triangles" into the same shell(or island in 3ds) and with all edges sewed(or welded in 3ds), you will have no issue.

you did a great job on those scratches and normal maps, you should only take Hauteclocque's advice, fill the NormalMap Alpha channel with pure black, or work...

Yeah, the lights isn't dynamic, its "painted" over the texture. I'll use the shadows and highlights as a overlay for the textures, the same way I use the AO on external textures.

I just noticed some extra gloss on several assets, HK417, AWM, Panzerfaust 3 and Leopard(looks plastic), they're probably using the ColormapGloss...
