Ok, I will give it a try. I still think you wouldnt have a problem with it when you see it in game, there is at least 900m between the carrier and the closest shore line.

16,000, though I can cut it down quite a bit more. The island vegetation is really dense for gameplay so ill see how it goes during playtesting.

Tried it, moving the heightmap is extremely simple but the colormap is another story, as it is split up into lots of files. Really didn't want to retexture everything so for now I will leave it.

Good points dtacs - The carrier placement matches the setup however, as it goes from the NW island, to the very SE island with the large town (where the AU main is). Anywhere else and it will break...

Just drop the rain effect idea for now guys, it isn't even on the table for me at the moment purely because of performance. Not very important compared to the other things I need to finish in the map...

In game, it looks much better with the new sky than the old. I simply can't achieve the look I want with the midday setting. I might give it another try later on but this is the happiest I've been...

Completely changed the lighting to something I believe matches the coloring of the sand, grass and vegetation. Removed my pretty blue underwater areas, Battlefield 2 engine was never designed for...

Don't worry, that's only in the raised areas at the moment, I just have to lower it in those parts. It will be nowhere near as high as that when finished.

Just an update: Changed vegetation around quite a bit - beats the deciduous bushes and trees I was using.
Brightened the sand and everything else. Still performing very well, having an island chain...
