Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

That was Euro 96, however chances are there going to be a little more mature this time, since England are far from on-form in this world cup.

Definitely going to watch that game. England are going to have to pull some magic out of the hat to beat Germany, and even if they do, chances are they will face Argentina, who are definitely on form!

Why does everyone always take the WW2 references so seriously? Live in the Present and the amount of freaking "Political Correnctness" these days in the UK im sure they wouldnt do anything that might offend Anybody. (If it does then grow the f*** up!)

Anyway, England v Germany, Kick off at 19:39, lets hope the yanks dont run onto the pitch at 19:42 and claim all the glory this time :p

Yes we are. We deserve it too. I think Japan is playing excellent football. Naturally I want my own team to win, but football facts are football facts. They play better.

Actually I'm quite fine with us being destroyed.

Short story is that we have seen an increasing arrogance in this country, the last 10-20 years?

That arrogance has at some point deployed it self on our national football team as well.

Recent examples:

Before the match against Cameroon, a well-known danish player expressed that he had no worries, due to the fact "most African teams aren't that well organised".

Before the match against Japan, a well-known danish player expressed that the height of the Japanese players, compared to the height of our players, gave us an advantage.

Hopefully these matches - with the help from x voices in the future debate - will help the reforms we need, on our cultural arrogance-account.

***

On note: Think the first Japanese shot in this match - was a long diagonal. At that very moment, I knew we would probably loose, cause the entire discourse of the debate here, has been concentrated around our heights vs their heights, thus a discourse focusing on man to man play, not long shoots.

Thus as stupid and immature and non-pragmatic as it can be.

The dumb Danes strike again.

***

Match is still not over, but personally I dont think our players is up for this challenge.

To much work left with their own mindset still.

Japan 3 goals vs Denmark 1 goal

Note: the danish player who made the goal is the same player i have quoted above.

omg....france out and italy out.
this is kind of bad day to the european football...

thank god that we have germany and holland still!!!

Spain and Portugal are out of Europe ?

Couldn't watch the Japan vs Netherlands game despite wanting to.

But I did see the second half of the Slovakia vs Italy game. Man.... that was a nice game. Very entertaining.

The Slovakians played a really awesome game 'though they did got quite some luck as well. Now they'll be facing Netherlands in the Round of 16. That's gonna be a tough match since the dutch have been doing great.

Tomorrow ends the Group stage. Brazil versus Portugal.... definitively a match loaded with portuguese. ;)
North Korea versus Côte d'Ivoire..... Meh the Norks are already out and by far. Portugal made sure of that.
Chile versus Spain and finally Honduras versus the Land of Neutrality.

germany is a very young and unexperienced team, i can tell this without being an soccer expert. just think of all the injured "veterans".
and this it was noticeable in the matches.
only team that looked rly strong for me was netherlands.
so its all about the spirit that habits in one team on the day of the match.
would be no surprise when there will be more surprises.

the World Cup so far is exactly like WW2. France and Italy
surrender early, the Yanks come in late, Japan get a suprise victory and the English face off against
the Germans.

Dont you worry in WW II the Italians marched all the way to leningrad and retreated because there was no Hitler to insist they stay unlike with the whermacht command and the Russians arent even invovled.

Sure it sucks since you can only watch one at a time but otherways the games and players might be influenced.
