Boring or not, we got 6 points. Germany? England? France? Spain? Winning with a cold 1-0 is a victory as well, which is the most important thing. Of course, having a very awesome football to see is better, but not the primary goal.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

That was an extremely strong team we faced. They owned the field. They simply owned that match.

Wow, they were much better than anyone here expected. Much better.

As already said, we lack the offensive players and we lack the skills in combination-play, and today we even lacked our quality, the organised defence.

So. Whenever the chance deployed it self today, we sometimes got lucky and deployed the goal.

We had several chances that we blew.

However, we did get a lot of fighting defensive abilities deployed today. Not because we wanted it, but because we faced an opponent who forced us back, again and again and again.

Then again. Somehow. It must be very frustrating for such an offensive team as Cameroon, to experience that their chances over and over lead to no goal.

But, what a discipline they deployed. What a superior discipline. They just kept going on the offensive, sure they had no other option, but still, running as much as they did, cost energy.

Strong players they got, we could learn from that.

Phew!

Mann, i hope our team somehow regain strength to next match.

Serves him right, too. I was reading around on some websites where they were saying that he comes from an anti-American family who claims that early ancestors of his were taken as slaves back in the 17/1800s.

I was thinking the same when watching the match. The referee has to hate the USA people. :D As for his career i'm sure we wont see him again in a big competiton probably some international friendlies, on the other side if USA had won England would of been more screwed, making me more happy because England is the team i don't like in this group.

It was on the Post England v USA match on James Cordens World Cup Live (just before they showed the New York Post headline "USA Wins 1-1"). Im guessing "Pee-wee" soccer is what they mean.

Back when I was in highschool, no one ever went to the American Football games, even though our team was good.

Everyone went to the soccer games. Everyone.

Wow you serious? More people attended our football games more than the rest of the sports combined lol.

Sometimes there was standing room only at the stadium

haha, yeah. what makes it worse is that it was in Texas.

I mean, our soccer team was great and always made it to play offs.

England have just been such a huge disappointment. They have one last match to prove them selfs, and if they don't then we don't deserve to even be in the World Cup.

Yay The Netherlands to the next round!

Might have been boring football, specially in the first half, but it was exciting. When at the end the Dutch commentator said the Japanese got a penalty I almost got a heart attack (luckily he didn't give him). Good referee by the way.

And when I came back from the match it was great to see all those Dutch supporters on the street.

Time for a song:

I wonder how will we do against England. England will probably become uberleet in a moment despite the previous matches and we will get owned and there goes the cup.

Thats how we roll.

Oh yes, I feel the exact same way in regard to us against Japan on Thursday.

Until then, to me, its all about being calm again, forgetting thursday a bit, and just watch some nice football.

Also.

I think its very inspirering that Slovenia, having below the half player/coach-talent mass available, that do we in this country, has made it so far!

Should Slovenia win over England too, I will suggest that our people, organise a trip to Slovenia and try to get some new inspiration.

I also need to say, that I found it incredibly inspiring, to see that three head2head Slovenian defense Slovenia vs. USA match - post 428-.

If only one had players like that on a PR team. If only one had that!

I love this world cup its been completely unpredictable at times.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

Actually they scored plenty against Italy in a friendly , Italy scored one more that time. I was hoping for Italy to at least make it to the quarter finals, but I guess for a team that hardly ever qualifies it would be nice to make it to the ko rounds.

^^ Win although injuries from scattered landmines are a serious issue.

also justified penality. At least more so than the one against Australia.

Nicolas Anelka went home. I think the current situation in the french team won´t help them win anything. I really doubt they will continue to the next round.

btw Danke that is a rough picture. And like cassius said a little critical.

Exactly.

In Group stages? Then it would be if they needed 3 points to go pass the group stage.

In Elimination stage? Pretty much always. If you draw, you go to extra time. If you draw again in the ET then its penalties time which are so damn random.

Pretty much. It was needed anyway, players were not at 100% when they played, and trainer was a big s###.

brazil is on next round allready,so taking yellow in last group match would be bad.better miss last group match than next round match.

No way, he did nothing, watch again the replays, he DID NOTHING ! The IC player hit his body but the covered his face...

Ugly game, a lot of body confrontations.

So, Brasil got the next phase :)

Champions again maybe ?
