And what is necessary to play football ? As a poor country (we may be between the 10 biggests economy in the world, but the money is too concetrated at the south-southeast reagion) playing football is funny, easy and very cheap, all you need is an open field (we have a lot of space) and a something spherical. Done, you have a football game going on. If you have the chance to come down here (wich I dont recomend yet) will notice that in any place you go, you will see a football field and probally kids playing, any place ! Then add to the mix the players we have, almost all kids want to be a football player because they see the big players rich and playing in big named teams around the world. It's like rockey for canadians, they born with ice-skating on their feet. The same with brazilians, they born kicking a ball. I hope you understand... |

I agree with Romagnolo, lets take away all food from ppl and only let football talents have a good life
Imo people wont bother about food as long as they win football matches :b! |

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
OK thanks for the explanation.
Still, many countries has the same amount of football-energy deployed in several demographic layers, rich an dpoor contries, all over the planet, so, well, I'm thinking, the artistic stuff that you guys are world known for, is not really being seen yet, in any other place. Is it? |
Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

Almost all the "dad"s here incentivate their sons to chose a team, to watch games, to play soccer, and almost every kid goes to a "kid soccer school" where you play soccer with other kids with an adult being the referee (even poor kid's, cause there are always a free soccer school for poor kid's being runned by the governament or from some retired soccer played) Many poor kid's see in soccer a chance to became rich and famous. Almost any sport club arround here have a soccer field. Every beach have soccer goals. Also, soccers kind of works like an opium of the poor people. Something like: "Hey, your kids dont have any food, but who cares your team just won the cup." Everywhere that you go there will be a kid with a ball. Parent's usualy give soccer balls to their kid's arround here, it is a cheap present and the kid will have fun for hours. |

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa
Brazil Vs Holland
Interesting game at all. Both teams preffered the attacking style-attractive football throughout the history and now they both play cautious in this tourney like nearly all other teams. As a matter of fact, there are 3 teams in this tourney who roughly play a 4-2-3-1 formation which are Brasil, Germany and Spain. Germany seems to be the most effective team on this system however, its for sure that Brasil-Holland game will be very interesting game especially if one of them scores early in the game. Brasil has a very talented squad which is capable of creating chances nearly out of nothing but Netherlands is playing a very systematic and cautious passing system which may slow down or tire out the Brasilian midfielders. Again, if one them scores early, it will be a fantastic game to watch. Lets hope the best team wins! |

About the core of brazilian SOCCER, though, I must say, I prefer Handball and Volleyball over soccer, but anyone can play soccer (not very well, ie. me). But I was born in Boston, so that might be a reason. (Lived in Brazil for the last 15 years... |
