You're not paid £100,000 a week to kick a ball about and shag hot women, and represent your country for a period of 90 minutes every few days for 4 weeks in a sport's top international level though, are you? :D

For the money they're on, I'd have a friggin' smile surgically stitched onto my face.

Most PR games last longer ffs.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

Totally outclassed for the vast majority of the game. We played like school boys at the back, which for once isn't really an exageration. Frnakly, this could have happened in the other games if our opponets had a bit of an attacking edge to them.

Sad thing is, the German's actually looked quite shaky in defence for the brief ten minutes it was put under pressure. Not sure how far they'll go after this, when they come up against a team with a strong attack and a solid defence. One to watch in the future though I feel.

For once I'd like to go out after playing reasonably well and getting beaten, rather than handing the opposition the game on a plate. I don't expect us to be amazing, I don't think we have the class for that, but a good perfomance would be nice, i.e. solid at the back and not giving the ball away easily in attack and acutally make the otherside work for our exit.

Oh well...

There is plenty of times ive seen the English rub their noses in the fact they beat Wales 3-0, so now England, eat that :)

Indeed, thats why we dont see Players crying after they lost a Match and get back Home, well maybe a few. It wasnt like this Before..

Well that was the most intense game of the WC I have seen yet. Really surprised Fabio had not realised just how badly England needed to use the flanks... . But then again, we could not even beat Algeria or the USA so I dont know how people expected England to win against Germany without some drastic changes.

Well played Germany, was well worth the watch.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

A good match. Germany were by far the better team and deserved to win. England, as per usual, created plenty of chances but couldn't finish a thing. No width to the game and the Midfield just wasn't there. A good effort from James in tough circumstances.

All in all, a good game to watch, but England were no where near what they're alleged to be.

As for that goal, theres no bloody point getting hung up on it. 4-2 is just as much of a loss as 4-1. I would support the introduction of a video ref, but beyond that there is absolutely no point talking about it. Hard luck, sometimes thats the way the game goes.

Oh well, go on Deutschland, give the Argies* a good hiding in the next round.

*Sorry Mexico, but you haven't got a hope.

Apparently the coach of the English team is still on contract several years out in the future.

Just read about his comforting contract - providing him with millions of pounds every 12th month.

I wonder if the English fans has the debate-power to get him sacked?

After all, with so many talents on the English team, surely he cant miss that much. With all do respect.

Then again, he is not a young person anymore with all kinds of new visions.

The book that I mentioned about a thousand pages ago, sums this part up quiet well.

Constant sacking of coaches/trainers leaves the team in the same state as always. It's better to let this coach continue to work on and level his team for the future instead of bringing in a new coach that will just start the cycle all over again.

Any person who has played a sport to a high level should know that sport is not a fair game. Things will not go your way, and you have to deal with it. Simply outclassed today, deserved winners Germany.

Well in principle I agree with the argument. Its the very same conclusion I try to point out in my PR CO guide.

In the PR tourney, changing coaches/co´s, as it has been done quite frequently on some teams, few campaigns back, only supports that books argument.

However, this is with all due respect not the PR tourney, or any other tourney.

This is the biggest single sport event on the globe.

Its the biggest cup on the globe, so far - the PR tourney will of course, eventually become the biggest.

Point is that on this specific football level, there is no such thing as a bad day.

Bad day? That is for all those not participating in the world cup.

World cup is the elite. When talking elite people, in sport and everywhere else, the bad day thinking, is suppressed by professionalism and (mostly) experience.

Scot is spot on.

As for Fabio, I thought he did fine. Not his fault the defense looked like they were eighty years old.

was a great game, germany deserve the win.
Too bad with the not given 2:2, but im sure england hadnt win with that goal too.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

I Think the Lampard Goal would affect the Game, Alot.

Losing 3-1 is way different than Losing 3-2 or 2-2, it would give the English Players enough Morale to make 2 More and Hold on against the Blitz German players.

Where the hell was the Assistant Referee looking? If he didn't get down to the end line its because he wasn't in good enough shape for the World Cup fitness tests, and shouldn't even be in the World Cup as a referee at all... I mean, what the hell are they paying him for if he can't see the ball cross the goal line. AAAA get some glasses.

Another referee fail on Argentina match, this mistake let Mexico down too early. Refs were decent at the start of the tourney but they started failing at the important stages wtf!

maarit 2010-06-27 19:22

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

yep,another fail in referee actions.
tevez in offside position and scores.

but what was more weird that refs had that odd meeting there, when mexico players were protesting.
did the ref see offside in replay and became hesitate?
there was clearly something going on.
mexico was playing well before that offside goal...

Hauteclocque 2010-06-27 19:25

M. Rosetti wasn't sure if the goal was good or not, so he asked the other referee to know, who said that this goal wasn't offside...

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

Reffs suck.

Technology needed IMHO.

I mean, I thought that I would never see replay in baseball, but it's there and being used for the better. It's been used to good effect.

All tech will do is make the game fairer, and better for the fans. FIFA is just putting themselves in bad light if they don't allow tech in the future.

I challenge anyone to give me three good reasons as to why tech is football would be bad.

Nice match but it was kind of to be expected. And what a bomb from Higuain. I sure would not mind to see him at AC Milan.

So the 2006 recap Argentina Deutsland is going to be next?
