First of all, we hope v1.4 has been a fun to play update for our community, we as a team are very happy with what we accomplished in v1.4 and hope you are all enjoying it.

Project Reality:BF2 v1.4.1 and v1.4.2
We've prepared 2 hotfix patches to address some launch-day issues players and servers have been encountering. Since some of corrected issues pertain to the PR Launcher, which can't be applied through the automatic updater, the first patch v1.4.1 must be manually downloaded and installed. We have a issue with the updater so we can't use it to apply the patch. We will also be including a full standalone installer for 1.4.1 for new and returning players; refer to the Downloads and Installation section for further instructions.

Bear in mind that the 1.4.0 Launcher will NOT directly push this update to your system, so please alert any friends and fellow PR players and direct them to this page to receive the update.

The remaining bugfixes are in another patch v1.4.2 which can be downloaded through the launcher after v1.4.1 is installed.

v1.4.1.0 Changelog
This is the manual update Patch.

Fixed frequent CTD regarding graphic setting verification.
Fixed automated updater not working.

v1.4.2.0 Changelog

Fixed admin command !switch not working on dead players.
Fixed spam from bots and hash/name verification on COOP.
Fixed a server crash.
Fixed IDF Merkava front armor.
Fixed some breacher and spotter kits not being able to use shovel.
Fixed Milan MIRA having wrong materials.

Download & Installation
If you are new to Project Reality, visit the downloads page to download the standalone v1.4.1 installer.

If you have already installed PR:BF2 v1.4, visit the downloads page and download the Manual v1.4 to v1.4.1 Updater and run the executable.

Make sure the PR:BF2 installation path and operating system version(32/64bit) is correct before pressing 'Update'. If the patch was successful it will display 'Done'. Make sure to run it as admin and turn off your anti-virus.

Afterwards v1.4.2 can be automatically downloaded through the PR launcher as usual when you press "PLAY".

If you have already installed PR:BF2 v1.3.9 or a previous release, uninstall PR:BF2 and visit the downloads page to download the standalone v1.4.1 installer.

Thanks, but now all my team got the "empty server browser".

Don't know if that happen to all players (were on 1.4.2)

edit: maybe because servers are not up to date?

Servers likely not updated yet.

Servers are also updating. This can take time depending on when the server admins have time.
There should be some servers up very shortly.

Updater indicates that i dont have 1.4 lol but i have it what should i do ?

Did the textbox show the correct path to the launcher?
Did you somehow click twice?
Did you select 32bit/64bit?

Try launching and see what happens.

Thanks for the update before the weekend that's well planned and thought out. We have to spread word about the manual update though. Please share it everywhere!

I didnt click twice but i hav e tried the automated updater first since i didnt know the update should be done manually

althought i still have this :

ERROR : version is not 1.4.0.0

The program is signed. Just disable your anti-virus while applying the patch. It's probably because it wants to alter files.

Don't know if this is performance related but after installing this patch I played a round of Fallujah and for some reason the run animation would bug out and stutter and accelerate weirdly whilst not moving forward fluently. This would also happen when I jumped over a barrier and the jumping animation would keep playing on my gun whilst walking.

Also whilst still in 1.4.0.0 I was attempting to fly a blackhawk on bamyan but crashed due to my game suddenly running at 1 frame per second which is strange as during the test event I had no such problems, and most other maps run perfectly fine on my rig.

Somehow when i start the game from the launcher it says there is an update available and gives me the option to download it, should i?

It'll give you an error and do nothing, so feel free. :D
Once you've updated 1.4.1 use the launcher again and it'll bring you to 1.4.2.

Thanks to the DEVS for keeping such an Epic (game) ..er... EXPERIENCE alive.. i see so many new comers and love helping them.. usually starts with : 'How do i use the radio'

I look 4wrd to enjoying this for many years to come and then some

I do miss the intro music tho, its so fitting to the whole beast that PR is.. the new Bamyan music is spot on PR...

I believe running it as admin will solve that, not entirely sure though.

we lost many's new players. can you please do something like automatic update 1.4.1 and after that automatic update to 1.4.2

FAILED TO COPY FILES... i had that too.... then i had a revelation.... i closed the launcher and did it again...

it worked

it would not replace files for launcher with it open you see... (du?!:?)

im sure u figured that out already tho
