The New C4 / FOB / Cache Gameplay Changes

Hello,

time to update you guys about the PR 1.0 C4 vs Firebase, Vehicle, Ammocache gameplay changes.


Following has changed for the conventional forces:

- C4 for conventional forces will be available in a small and a large model

- the large model is a bit more than twice as strong, and only available for the CombatEngineer, while the small C4 is handed out to the specialist too

- both types of C4 will be time detonated now (basically removes ability to ambush)

- C4 is defuseable by the CombatEngineer, in case the C4 was misplaced

- FOBs are not knifeable anymore, and only killable by C4 or other high explosive devices, and big calibers used by vehicles

- Caches are effectively killable by C4 only and it takes longer to plant the c4, to simulate a proper EOD work. This also helps to prevent "ninja" cache destroying

- To blow a cache successfully with one C4 (doesn't matter if big or small) it needs to be planted directly on the cache - means killing caches through walls isnt that easy anymore



The video below is pretty old, the C4 deploy times and the detonator, the effects and minor other things have changed for example, but the shown gameplay mechanics are the same:

    10 sec for small C4 to detonate.
    30 sec for FOB to get half-destroyed after small C4 blew up.

    Don't like the FOB changes. Promotes spawn-camping and that annoying scenario where you kill a guy near his FOB and he immediately spawns right back to kill you because you couln't kill the FOB.

    Unknifable FOBs are good, I agree with that gameplay change, but as a Server Admin, I see serious issue with spawn camp now..
    That can cause serious flaws with a gameplay in 1.0.

    WOW WTF TO THE PEOPLE COMMENTING

    Do you guys even play fucking infantry? Or are you just assetwhores? Do you know that FOBs get overunned when close to them so people can't spawn on them?

    And if you camp the FOB from far away with your AR, then what? How does that change the fact that you're still not destroying the FOB, and that if an enemy spawn he can hide, you know, your AR is not insta kill.

    Also how ABOUT TEAMWORK, where your squad will or SHOULD be composed with more than one guy, AKA having a specialist.

    Everyone complains about ninjas destroying caches with 1 C4 or FOBs going down too easily, now they want it back lol, fuck off.


    THOSE CHANGES HAVE RUINED THE MOD EVEN THOUGH I HAVEN'T PLAYED YET

    not it doesn't give you that privilige...it actually discourge people from becoming lonewolf ninjas and it actually make assets more use full and important like who bother taking an engi if it wasn't for ambush or now a spacialist is a must in a squad.

    No incendiaries, no C4 through walls easily anymore and long deploy time, gotta protect dem engies on Insurgency now. Very nice I like.

    if it's friandly he can do anything he want's with the assets but enemy once on other hand...umm...you know the answer.
