The New C4 / FOB / Cache Gameplay Changes

Hello,

time to update you guys about the PR 1.0 C4 vs Firebase, Vehicle, Ammocache gameplay changes.


Following has changed for the conventional forces:

- C4 for conventional forces will be available in a small and a large model

- the large model is a bit more than twice as strong, and only available for the CombatEngineer, while the small C4 is handed out to the specialist too

- both types of C4 will be time detonated now (basically removes ability to ambush)

- C4 is defuseable by the CombatEngineer, in case the C4 was misplaced

- FOBs are not knifeable anymore, and only killable by C4 or other high explosive devices, and big calibers used by vehicles

- Caches are effectively killable by C4 only and it takes longer to plant the c4, to simulate a proper EOD work. This also helps to prevent "ninja" cache destroying

- To blow a cache successfully with one C4 (doesn't matter if big or small) it needs to be planted directly on the cache - means killing caches through walls isnt that easy anymore



The video below is pretty old, the C4 deploy times and the detonator, the effects and minor other things have changed for example, but the shown gameplay mechanics are the same:

    If you set a timed explosive and die before it detonates, will it still detonate?

    Like the forcing of teamwork further eroding squads under 4 effectiveness.

    Basically you're severely limited in your battle effectiveness if I you haven't got a specialist, and even then you need at least an Ammo bag if crates are far.

    On insurgency this would seem to encourage all blufor to attack one cache together - interested to watch the community dealing with this change.

    As a player that likes teamwork an enjoys being in a big squad I like this. Very happy to see lone wolf's and little squads getting nerfed like this.

    In a 100 game can we have two specialists in an 8 man squad assuming it's still going to be like that.

    Of course it will, however if you set a control-detonated explosive and respawn before you set it off, you can't blow it up

    Yea ok bud. You're just another guy that comments on asset whores and all this shit. What, are you a INF whore?

    I could kill the FOB, but no, I realize that since I can't kill it, I can't leave it unattended because they could use the fob to attack my teamates. So, I camp the FOB and boom, they die when they spawn so they're not attacking my teamates.

    What if I only have a 1/2/3 man squad? No specialist, problem. What if someone joins and they steal my specialist, problem. etc.

    I really could give a fuck about people ninjaing fobs or caches. Shit happens, nbd.

    You send 50 guys to attack it...

    Although I am sure that is will be difficult for you since it is WAYYYYYYYYYY different from your cheese tactic of attempt to ninja cache with c4 from outside.

    i really liked all the shtuff you putting in the game .

    one qustion : does the knife also doesn't work on hideouts ? and if so how many do you need to kill it ?

    quick question: how does an insurgent destroy a blufor FOB now? and is c4 required for hideouts also?
