Updated botnames.

Menu/Hud

Updated Chinese fonts used in the menu.
Fixed TOW/HJ8/Leopard 2A6 hud so some players with older graphics cards don't crash upon entry.
Fixed Leopard 2A6 and Merkava HUDs having several graphic issues.
Updated TOW and ZIS3 huds so they don't overlay chat text.
Updated various vehicle crosshair textures.
Fixes to some inaccuracies with various vehicle huds.
Added rangefinder to GLTD.
Updated various vehicle and weapon icons.
Small fixes to the main menu.


Kits

Added non-zoom PKM to Russian alternative automatic rifleman kit.
Replaced pipebomb IED with artillery IED on unconventional faction engineer kit.
Replaced 1187 shotgun with Remington 870 shotgun.
Replaced Taliban scout SKS with a PPSH.
Replaced militia medic's AKS47 with a Simonov.
Replaced molotov with smoke grenade on the Militia alternative warrior
Slightly lowered kit geometry draw radius in an attempt to fix lag issues, however it is still much bigger than the original draw radius.
Updated HAMAS kit primary weapons.


Materials

Updated 14.5mm vs airplane material to be the same vs helicopters.
Updated .50cal/14.5mm vs various APC material.
Updated 7.62mm vs Jeep/Truck armour damage to a more realistic value.
Fixed .50cal vs BTR60/M113 armour to be stronger.
Fixed Kashan Desert village houses and Afghan shed being too easily destroyable on certain parts.
Lowered bomb vs APC/Tank armour damage.


Python

Enemies close to mapper placed rally points will expire them.
Forward Outposts can't be deployed too close to the edge of the map.
Lowered maximum number of TOWs per team from 3 to 2.
Medic kit requires 2 players in the squad to be requestable, instead of 4.
Rally Points rearm automatically 10 min after expiring. Skirmish gamemode it's still 2 min.
Losing a Forward Outpost will add a slow ticket bleed to the team on CnC.
The team has 5 min to rebuild a destroyed Forward Outpost before the bleed starts on CnC.
Forward Outposts must be deployed closer to the center of the map to inflict higher ticket bleed on the enemy on CnC.
Decreased tickets from 300 to 200 on Vehicle Warfare.
Changed font on game mode server text messages.


Soldiers

Updated textures on US Army woodland camo.
Updated textures on Canadian woodland soldier's gloves to be camo'd.


Sounds

Fixed BMP-3 reload sounds
Fixed some ambient sound distances and volumes.
Lowered audible distance of incoming Artillery/Mortars to fix some issues.


Statics

Fixed some lampposts not drawing past ~50m (on Al Basrah and Karbala).
Fixed roadmarkers to have no collision (on Silent Eagle)
Fixed all containers to draw at longer ranges.
Fixed river rocks to draw at longer ranges (on Siege at Ochamchira).



Vehicles

Fixed Apache camera issue.
Fixed BRDM2 periscope, water engine, seat icons, rate of fire, and suspension.
Fixed BTR-80A HEAT ammo not being selectable with "2".
Fixed CH-47 flare reload bug, ramp not opening/closing on dedicated servers, position icons and pilot FOV.
Fixed G-Wagon gunner having selection icons.
Fixed Gary and Big Red (insurgent bomb trucks) hitpoints, and number of bombs really dropped.
Fixed HMMWV CROWS missing gunner delay, and gunner having selection icons.
Fixed HMMWV support missing entry point at the back.
Fixed insurgent technicals suspension.
Fixed LAV-3 being very quiet, and it turning to the right when driving.
Fixed LAV-25 coaxial, antennas, and textures.
Fixed Leopard 2A6 ammo box, and driver having selection icons.

Reduced settle time on deployed marksman rifles to be the same as assault rifles (max ~1 second)

shame that so many maps had to have the view distance cut, can any info (guess) be given as to how much is lost? couple of metres, 100s?


and no reference to the Z-10s gunner camera (http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f26-pr-bf2-bugs/79170-0909-z-10-gunner-view.html#post1315199), or was that what was meant by the apache camera?

v0.91 is primarily a bugfix patch. No new assets. They will be in v0.92+ :). Gotta have existing bugs fixed before we make more bugs :p. View distance reduction is around 100m or so, you shouldn't notice it that much, and it won't really affect gameplay. The Z-10 bug was only reported on Sunday, way too late in the game to be fixing that in this patch :p.

The maximum cut was 150m but in-game it is not really noticeable.

Why was this changed? 10 crates seems pretty low. Dedicated logistics driver will have to do some juggling when the crates start disappearing after only your fifth trip.

Anyways, love the updates. Especially the lower squad count for a medic. Hated having to wait for 4 players to have a medic.

VD reduction is hardly noticeable on all maps and at the same time gives major(at least for me) performance boost, your example might be the only one where it will be noticeable and still only on specific asset
so its a very little loss for a big gain:smile:

people used to drop loads and loads of ammo bockes and crates around spamming to get more points and also if you drop enough i guess you could event crash the server

i tryed lashkar valley and dropped view distance to 50%.
in brit mainbase get 50fps and the drived in center of map and fps dropped below 20.
maybe its time to say goodbye to my crap pc:lol:
also test fallujah with droppedviewdistance and almost managed to play it.
just testing that cos i dont want to dissapoint when patch get released.


but its odd that yamalia gives quite good fps.

Well, with VD cuts I'm supposing on average at around 100m depending on how bad the map performed previously, I'm not supposing it to be that huge of a negative, but it is a very specific problem that doesn't improve things in any case for that aspect of SE.

FINALLY! I've been quite sad because we havent been able to keep Dragon Fly and Beirut in our rotation due the massive bugs in them. Also great that there is solution for the horrible fps-drop on most of the new maps.

They are actually trees that are planted so deep only tips of upper branches are visible :) Removing collision mesh from trees or even branches would mean all aircrafts could fly near trees without danger, which is not good.

FAIL- It is hard enough to fly with the jets because of low viewdistance.
an now u r lowering it again.

Why is it hard to fly a jet because of view distance? You arent suppost to see the ground when flying jets, imo you should be flying + 1300 altitude and you can always use markers for landing and takeoff.

Plz fix caches exploding due to explosions trough walls. I've been hoping for this fix for a few versions, as I keep sitting on caches that just over time get enough explosion damage trough wells and suddenly catch fire and explode without the bluefor actually getting inside where the cache is (taling about caches in cellars, caves etc). Hopeful for the next version.

im just scared cos changing those video options just dont give me result what i want.
my pc is crap but everything in low,everything off and view distance lowered 50% and getting still below 20 fps.

yeah pretty much, but ingame there is a "fog" just before the view distance ends, this results in the view distance not being so drastic. if you reduce the video option though this fog won't follow and results in the game looking like crap.

It also seems to be the same issue I experience when looking at too many of Rhino's new overgrowth fields on Qwai.

Me thinks markers might be disappearing soon.., or at least losing their range-finding ability.

Don't like the reduction of View distance on maps. SE is already pretty horid when it comes to attack helicopter gunning and landing aircraft.

Agree fully. I mean, the view distance is short of what it should be already (on Silent Eagle), and the fact that the havoc gunner camera has a filter on it, as well as the fact it is such a dark map, its hard enough gunning as it is. With an even lower view distance you'll have to be forced to fly even lower in order for the gunner to see things (or in this case not see them), and then risk being shot by a tank that can probably elevate to hit you without even being on a hill.

You might as well put a frogfoot on the map instead because I don't see the point in having a havoc if you're not able to see any targets yourself and thereby being forced to fire at targets from beyond visual range to avoid being shot down by armour; the frogfoot does a much better job as that role (firing from beyond visual range) than the havoc does.

It means you can only have 10 creates ingame at one time, older ones will be destroyed just like grenade traps for example.

Great update mods as usual, preformance seems to be much better now to... only real issue I have is FOBs deployed area. Had a huge issue deploying a FOB on Flalujah last night, tried to build one in the small village at the NW corner of the map, but with the 200m limit, it's impossible... :(

Rally Points rearm automatically 10 min after expiring. Skirmish gamemode it's still 2 min.
Losing a Forward Outpost will add a slow ticket bleed to the team on CnC.
The team has 5 min to rebuild a destroyed Forward Outpost before the bleed starts on CnC.
Forward Outposts must be deployed closer to the center of the map to inflict higher ticket bleed on the enemy on CnC.
Decreased tickets from 300 to 200 on Vehicle Warfare.

BF2 hitbox detection is not very good. So maybe it seemed like a hit on your screen, the game thinks otherwise. This is not something the DEV's can fix.

Also remember you need to wait a second or two before you fire for improved accuracy. The longer the distance, the longer you need to wait.
