In PR v0.7 there will be a bunch of new icons, markers and recolors coming from our R-CONs.

Thanks to [R-CON]Chuc, [R-CON]Geze, [R-CON]AfterDune, [R-CON]AncientMan, [R-CON]Shiftys1023 and others.

Ability icons

All those little icons that explain what the kits have were overhauled.

Landing Zones and Build Order

The Commander will be able to set Landing Zones (LZs) that will be visible to all squads and help the commander transmit his plan. Also the Build Order can be given to squad leaders to build assets for the Commander.

Compass

At the bottom of the screen, the new compass is more useful and visible.

It's going to help vehicle crews communicate a lot better where the enemy is.

The vehicle skins look awesome. No longer do we have to drive those horrible red station wagons, we can now drive horrible blue station wagons. This will great.:D

Let me first say the new loading screen for maps is bloody brilliant!

The PLA tank skin is awesome as well, so are the new insurgent vehicles

The new kit loadout is great

The new icons for kits is WONDERFUL I just wish I knew which is which.... *runs to wiki guide*

Great work on the vehicles. Is the "Bomb truck" getting a new one too? It didn't look too "Kabul ghetto" to me. (If it's still in the game, that is)

im drooling over the black technical. and the multi color insurgent cars are awesome. thats something i suggested a while back, and probly others have too. it looks like the insurgents are finally getting some variety back.

So players will still be able to hit Tab to check their kills and magically confirm whether or not they killed an enemy?

Dude that looks awesome! Just one suggestion though on the kit names. Instead of Rifleman for both Unscoped and Scoped maybe rename the Second one to "Rifleman Scoped" Or "Rifleman Optics" (Whatever sounds better) to make things clearer for newbies and SL's who tell their squad at the beginning of the round to spawn in as what kit. And I see it says PR .706! Is that the one we're getting or something higher, better even?

whoever thought of the LZ symbol and making it visible for all squads is a genius. but what i would like is to make it possible for everyone to place a "move" marker while in a helicopter to direct the pilot. the marker goes away when you jump out of the chopper.

Couple of questions, though:

I suppose the "letters over Vs" are the LZs? Why can't the SLs place them as well? Would be good for inter-squad communication.
How will the Officer kit work now that it's selectable from the main loadouts? Do you just have to be a squad leader or Commander to get it?

If you are a SL/commander, you can spawn with Officer instead of spawning with another kit and requesting it. It can still be requested again, after you spawned, though.

Also, can we get some black border around the compass letters/numbers, because white text is really hard to see on bright background?

Yeah this is al great stuff! BTW I agree with the above post^^. We need them to stand out more so everybody can see them even in a brightly colored map.

Also: Dose this mean all those skins for the PLA vehicles are going to come into play next patch? the ones from BF2 sure were cool to say the least, but they were in no way correct from what we have seen the PLA use on their vehicles. Changeing only one would make it stand out like a soar thumb.

BTW alot of trucks in the Middle East are white because the people can't afford anything else for replacement paint. Still kudos for giveing the Insurgents something new other than a kit revamp yet agian to confuse the noobies all over agian.

Any chance you will have the commander say something like:

Relocate to this extraction point over........

and squad leaders say in kind when they accsept:

Roger that moveing to your location!


This could be vary helpfull for both Commanders and squad leaders to make sure squads that use the BlackHawks, WZ-9s (When we get them), and that MEC chopper to know where to go to pickup troops.

Just tried out playing with the renderer.drawhud 0 thing... Cool :P can we have it like that rhino? :P with just a lil real life looking compass in place of the map? :D *crosses fingers*

Those new skins look awesome :P I almost expect the Technical to have some huge rims 8)

What are you talking about, the scoped rifleman is still here, just no more red-dot 5P3c 0pz, which has a sight not scope.

Will they die when they spawn with a officer kit? or are they not able to 'request' the officer kit before spawning?!

Or will they just walk around with the officer kit if they want so and say; OMY DOGz0rz I AVE GUT TH3 OFFIZZURS KITz0rz!!!111!!!1!1!

I have to disagree. There's nothing more annoying than having to go CQB or even running around a dense forest with a scoped rifle. I like having the option to choose what weapon I'll need.

I believe it is a icon to resemble a Jet-plane, symbolizing a Landingzone.
Even though db chose a bad LZ for that jet in particular... :lol:

You will find that a lot of the new icons are based on NATO symbols. So it's not a tree :lol:, but instead the NATO symbol for "Friendly observation post's planned location"

Isn't it kinda strange that medics, engineers and ammo rifleman don't have scopes?
In real life, everyone would have a scopre and body armour, it's not like: Okay, you can heal yourself, so you don't get a scope, ha! :p

Just a suggestion, although I do understand that those kits might become "uber 1337" kits because you can heal/resupply yourself and you have a scope...

Just because scoreboard is still in the mod, the devs can just set the score for everything but player deaths as 0. Then at the end of round, you will be able to see your score and everyone else's score. At least, that's what I heard a while ago on the forums...

this idea had to be suspended one round, to not endanger the near 0.7 release date..

I like everything shown except the cheesy glow around the guns in the kit selection area. You can do better than that!

And if that 4th icon is a 'tank' icon, it could be improved in my opinion... to show a little turret.
