Lock and load, soldier! We are now at Defcon 3! Yep, it's that time again; our very own Project Reality Tournament (http://tournament.realitymod.com) is back for Campaign 6! Whether you’re a casual gamer or veteran clan member, we have the ultimate Project Reality experience waiting for you. Sign-ups are now officially open, but slots are limited, so hurry up and enlist today (http://tournament.realitymod.com/showthread.php?t=8856)!

Up until now, all previous tournament campaigns relied on the aspect of winning more battles than the other team to gain victory. For C6, we’re happy to announce that we have decided to take the next big step: the creation of a persistent tournament world. Victory or defeat used to be nothing more than a number on a scoreboard. Not anymore. From now on, it’s all about domination. More about this will be announced in the coming weeks, as we present our new Tournament Battle Map and our revised set of rules. At that time, the new Soldier Control Panel, integrated award system, and battle planner will be introduced as well. They have to go through a few more test cycles before they can be released.

For those who are new to the Project Reality Tournament, Campaign 6 hosts two brand new alliances for you to sign-up with: The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the Central Asia Treaty Alliance (CATA). Each alliance has two different armies you can join.

http://media.realitymod.com/news/prt/c6/prtc6_signup.png
(http://tournament.realitymod.com/showthread.php?t=8856)

But what events led to the conflict between these two alliances? The latest edition of the 'Tourney Times' (http://media.realitymod.com/news/prt/c6/prtc6_tourneytimes1.jpg) will inform you of the grim story of a world in conflict. So, will you defend CATA, their oil, and their right to freedom? Or will you join forces with the NATO armies, in a last ditch attempt to save the West? Sign-up now and join the action! Please visit our How-To-Sign-Up (http://tournament.realitymod.com/showthread.php?t=8856) thread to learn how to join one of the Armies.

Stay tuned for more information. Have fun in the Project Reality Tournament and see you on the battlefield, soldier!

Don't lose faith guys, players will be removed due to inactivity so there will probably be a chance to get let in.

Sign-ups opened on November 10 and closed on November 13.
Is this a record?

Me and at least one buddy is waiting on our toes for the next opportunity. Just don't announce it on the mainpage! :p While I was sorting out my business and led the guys know about this, others who probably wouldn't recognize it otherwise filled two and a half pages on the PRT forum in a blink.

Can't you expand the number of armies???

Dunehunter
2007-11-14, 09:33
I don't think they can, there are 4 different ones already, with the Militia/Insurgents not having enough maps to be their own team.

Any chance of using Merc's to fill in on an on-call basis if needed rather than borrowing from other teams?

Can't you expand the number of armies???

I appointed myself commander of the 4th NATO army for nothing?!

But judging from the avatar I'm using for the £%^& of it, there's probably plans for such a thing at some point.

I was hoping to sign up, but was shocked to see it already closed. I've been in big tournaments in the past for BF1942 and DC, and there was plenty of room for over 500+ people... this seems like a smaller scale I guess.

I was talking to people about it online in PR last night, and they wanted to sign-up too. I don't know if you guys realize just how many potential entrants this tournament could have, and how many people really wanted to participate --- even after signups closed. I'm guessing you don't have the resources to have a larger group of people in the tournament? What is it?

It looks as if you are taking the maps and using that as a basis of size and distribution of armies? There could always easily be a different system of using large scale maps first, and then switch to 32 or 16 player sizes to swap armies of the same team, so it acts as a 'standoff' or a way to finish off who wins a territory.

But I don't want to impose on new ideas, it looks like you guys have your plans already set-in-stone for the tournament by now.

Have fun!

I was pretty surprised about the duration it was open.
Luckily I was in it since the C5 otherwise I would have missed too.
The admins have changed as well as the format, don't know if it's related.I do remember that during C5 they reopened half away in as some people bailed out.
It's funny how when it's battle time a lot of people don't show up.For example our (MEDI) last 2 battles against the
US and the Brits only half of their team showed up.
Anyway I'll bring it up with my superiors -can only promise that much.
Keep your dicks up!!:twisted::twisted:

PS I wouldn't mind having Tweaky on my side rather then theirs.;)

PS 2
With the new faction (the Russians) coming in 0.7 it would be nice to expand it IMO.

Then talk to your superiors about that! :D lol

Would be fun to kick some -A- in a team with you. I was always a dedicated 'air force' leader in the older tournaments I was in, so that is probably what I'd end up doing. But I wouldn't mind fighting on the ground either way.

PM me if there are ever free slots in your team, I want to check this out :)

I'd suggest for the T-runners to start the 7th campaign in a short time! ;)

Indeed. Right now, the tournament can only support about 240 players. Since the start of the tournament, capacity has increased by 400%. The most important reason for not expanding is staffing.

It looks as if you are taking the maps and using that as a basis of size and distribution of armies? There could always easily be a different system of using large scale maps first, and then switch to 32 or 16 player sizes to swap armies of the same team, so it acts as a 'standoff' or a way to finish off who wins a territory.

We currently use all maps that are available to us. If you wish to learn more about our win/loss requirements, please visit the tournament forum.

But I don't want to impose on new ideas, it looks like you guys have your plans already set-in-stone for the tournament by now.

New ideas are always good.

Have fun!

Indeed.

Though, after the latest pruning round, signups could be opened again in the next few days. Check back often!

Then they should've signed up when the signups were open.

If we have more players there will be too many people in each team which means that a bunch of players wont be able to attend battles. It's perfect the way it is now that if they are quick enough to signup you will be able to attend nearly all the battles/practices and have a place.
In the end of C5 when the admins had opened the signups again MEDI had too many people showing up for battles which meant that some players were forced to wait or play for the PELA instead.

Too bad, they couldn't go USEF or BCST, they could barely gather enough people to play

Oh well I just found out about PR only 2 days ago... says that the sign up will be opened up again sometime next week...so I've been checking everyday lol (hopefully maybe 50 spots will open or so)

There is quite a bit of inactive players so really you should sign up for the tourney forum and subscribe to the sign up thread. That way you know when people are signing up again.

Yeah, that was hell.
There were some Vet-troopers left, but not enough recruits to bump up force numbers. Squad leaders with no squads lol.
And then of course there were the endless Team vs Team, Team vs Admin, Squad member verse squad member lol.
And ofcourse there wernt enough players, so you couldnt threaten to kick someone from the team because we were already on the verge of extinction. The Only one who kept himself (and the whole thing) together was CO Casualty.

If the sign-ups do re-open before the a new release, would one be able to change team when the next version were to be released? Im very unsure of which team and whos on which team.
