View Full Version : An afternoon at Sunset City.

The usual squad tag, Delta T/W put up on the squad list, dead silence first order on VoIP: "Alright, if you are gonna muck up and lonewolf from MY squad, stop now or I will kick you from the squad and stick with the kits I give you, no spec ops or snipers". At the time only one player in the squad, but alright. Four others join the squad, same order and give them each their designated kits (usually 2/1 medics, 2/1 riflemen, 1 support and 1 L-AT) and off we go on foot.

My squad members close together with strong alertness come to the move marker, about 100m away from the Temple CP at a small hut. We set a rally up, squad members grab the designated kits and off we go to capture Temple. We encounter minor resistance, two Chinese KIA. Once the CP has been captured, orders from the commander to bring up a few of my guys to build the bunker, a few meters behinde me that is being built. Once the bunker was up, commander gave us new orders: Establish a foothold at the construction site, two-hundred meters east from our position, and push onto Officers, without hesitation or questions, move marker is set on construction marker and off we go. Once at construction site, we set down a rally point, grab our ammo and set a defensive, from now, waves of Chinese forces are attacking, pinning us down as well as a Chinese APC rolling down the city streets.

New orders from commander: Get to the offices and attack, we clear the Chinese forces, most of them had retreated for some strange reason and make our way across the road to the officers, so far no resistance at all. About 20 seconds on arrival on staying at Offices we here the same APC on the adjacent street across the office building, at the same time, Lower City has fallen, new orders from commander: Get to Lower City somehow and recapture the CP. The APC is still there, and we have no transportation or backup what-so-ever, as the remainder of the team have spawned on the US Starting Point and attacked Lower City directly.

We throw smoke in-between the gap between the office building and a small hotel and make our break for it, we back ourself on the hotel wall. I take a peek around the wall, no sign of Tango. We attempt to make our escape by using the bunker that goes into the construction site, the first man runs and is fired upon by APC cannon, we make a break for it but then are surrounded by enemy forces, we are all eventually dead lying on the ground with our eyes looking at the sky.

We spawn at the U.S starting point and grab a humvee and make out speedy way to Lower City, attempting to attack on a surprise arrival. We bail out of the humvee, engage forces with minor wounds and over-run the CP with no fuss. Next target is temple, the same plan was used when we attacked the Temple before, we move after a new rally was placed down and make out way. We all hid in cover popping out to shoot and see the blood spurt out of the China-man head's. Oh, no, another APC in the middle of the grass fields. Our L-AT guy is confused with the mist around the city and the camouflage of the APC and is unable to fire.

The friendly LAV moves up and destroys the APC and gives the team clear path to Temple. We arrive at Temple with major resistance, fire coming from the north and east approaches, my squad standing firm and tall fight back the Chinese with all their effort. We are then over-run by a run-and-gun Chinese spec-ops with a stolen M4 rifle and more bad news, our Rally has been taken out and Lower City has been captured, AGAIN!

Another glorious loss for the Marines, we spawn at the U.S staging point and hoof it into the mountains, the mountains are rocky as well as dangerous. I go first and attempt to make a clear path over the mountain and my squad follows me.

Another striking blow, but this is personal, I fall down the side of the mountain but luckily survive, thanks to the 'Good O'l Field Dressing' but not the same case for my squad members who followed me down the hill. Luckily, one of my squad members was riding in a LAV and picked up one of the medic's kits and revived the whole squad. Finally I had enough, I asked everyone to line up against the mountain cliff, face me, asked a SM to grab a grenadier kit and another a support kit then I ... - photographed them all, what a lovely way to end a round, although one squad member didn't show up which was a bit disappointing but still the photo is still a treasured memory.

We then picked our stuff up and headed over to a hut full of Chinese people, but from behind came a Chinese APC and obliterated us as well as the rally point, which was strangly taken out before we were.

I bidded farewell to the squad, as they did too and thanked them for a great game and left the game. After I logged out - I said something to myself "Geez, squad members are great" :-D.

Here are a few pics of us in Sunset City:

The squad photo, shame the leader wasn't in it, but we still all had fun in the end.

If I made any spelling errors, please tell me and I hope you have enjoyed my 'PR Tale from the frontline'.

Great story, shame the rest of your team let you down a bit. Or the enemy being so good for that matter. Anyways, good teamwork is swell, especially when you don't know the others.
BTW it might be offices instead of officers, not really shure though, i'm no spelling guru myself.
