This update brings two more maps from the good old days along with an overall update to all maps in the map pack.

GENERAL:

added Muttrah City v1 from PR v0.5, AAS and Skirmish
added Al Basrah from PR v0.5, AAS and Skirmish
lowered ambient sound volumes on all maps except Desert Storm
appended 'retro' to Qwai, Basrah and Muttrah map names to help discern between retro and core versions of the map.
added all gamemode definitions to 7 Gates desc since it becomes first map when installed next to core to fix the issue of gamemodes not showing in local create game menu
updated sound and lock distances for retro maps
fixed bad spawn points on some retro maps


LEVELS:


[Al Kufrah] Added main base TOWs to IDF base, delayed APCs on STD, added ALT layer with light APCs. Delayed tanks and switched MEC BMP2 with MTLB 30mm on AAS STD, added VW layer, added Skirmish.


[Daqing Oilfields] Added AAS INF, Skirmish


[Ejod Desert] Added TOWs to main bases on Std and Alt, added one nonrespawning BTR to MEC to even out APC numbers, made last flag bleed way faster, added Skirmish, added AAS Inf, removed 1 tank from each team on AAS STD


[Goods Station] Sunk MEC main flag into ground


[Gulf of Oman] Added fixed crates next to RPs to MEC/FSA flags, AAS STD: removed LAV25, swapped BTR60 with MTLB 30mm and removed spawn delay, BTR80 removed spawn delay, AAS ALT: removed AAVPs, removed CAS Huey, gave USMC more boats, removed rocket techie delay. Added Skirmish.

[Operation Greasy Mullet] Removed tanks from AAS ALT&STD, added AAS INF


[Qinling] Updated AAS STD, added AAS INF&ALT, alternate sky for AAS ALT, added CnC, added VW layer


[Qwai Retro] Added AAS INF and Skirmish


[Road to Kyongan Ni] Added Skirmish


[Steel Thunder] Added AAS Inf


[Street] Fixed Hamas not being able to request kits from crate at spawn, ambient sounds not playing


[Sunset City] Removed APCs from AAS STD, added Skirmish


[Zatar Wetlands] Added AAS Inf and Alt, added Skirmish

Muttrah Retro
-Syrian Rebels have no logistics vehicle and are thus unable to build deployable emplacements other than hideouts&roadblocks. This is intended.

There was a map pack that was released that was old maps from BF2. I wasn't sure if this was part of that or not, but..... Is there anyway we could some air assets on those maps like they used to have in BF2? Even if they are not the original ones, I think they would become pretty popular if they did that.

Regarding the install. If we have the old map pack do we need to remove anything or just overwrite all?

@Pharoah I think Zatar wetlands was one and has most of the toys.

Can we get these added to the base game installer instead of manual form links? A lot of these maps would be great to have in play in between ye olde standard 4km asset maps.

You made a really nice installer and updated for use with the game, so why not use it? Most people are not going to come to the forums, locate the correct post, download a zip and then install manually. We can bemoan laziness all we want, but that's the truth of it.

Hard drive space and bandwidth are cheap! More map variety is a winner for everyone.

It should be added to the launcher like FH2 does so its more visible and easier to dl for the community. Would like to run some of the maps but always lose too many players.

Outlawz - what I mean is, as was noted here by ArkUTD and Rico, why not add it into the core installer app? (ie, The auto-update PR Launcher app ) This would "force" the maps to download for the entire community and give us a broader map base to play from?

I know for a fact that these would get a ton of airtime if they were included as part of a push update.

That's awesome, I really hope it gets pushed through and into the launcher. I bet you'll get a big pop of activity and people coming back to check it out, at the very least. Good all around.

If it does get added i dont expect them to be played much anyway, but it would make hosting events on such maps much more accessible to the community and make it easier on players, because players are lazy, its why RMP didnt really take off when it first came out, the most PRTA got when running the maps was 70 players playing Gulf of Oman (a few weeks after the release)

Making it a force download like Falklands and let players themselves make there minds up on what maps they like or dont.

My opinion :)

Just love a lot of these maps

I never would have thought to ask.

Will be wonderful indeed if it's at least in the Launcher... I really loved those Retro maps, HOG played them for a week or two (hmmm... maybe less than two), but for whatever idiotic reasons, the player base could not get its sh*t together and dload those ridiculously-easy-to-download-and-install maps. WTF???

Hopefully we will be playing a wider variety of maps soon!

We've come to the conclusion that we'd like to add support for optional content to PR launcher but there is no one willing and able to work on that at the moment and we are not adding the retro map pack to core PR just so people don't have to download it manually.

I'm sure PR dev's have their reasons. One thing I do wonder is why these releases don't get publicised on the PR web page front page as that's where most people would look but all they will see is the 1.41 update.

Some of the maps maybe crap, but they are worth having, just add it to the launcher like an ad for a new DLC on any other game, gets more exposure, and its not like the player base wont be able to play on a server thats not running them, PRTA has proven that

Oh my god so much nostalgia, i still have PR 0.5 installation with these maps on, can't believe it's been 10 years , great memories :')

What is the point of this? In yesterday's event they couldn't even get half a full server going. If this isn't added to the core game it will never be able to be played properly, no server will be able to seed running these maps.

If running PR in Windowed mode and you get no error message, then there's a chance this is related to various air vehicles that have an Ai-Template related issue with the Co Pilot AI which should be fixed for v1.6
