She's back, but not as you remember her. Remember that little black number she used to wear? Well that's back too, but its not as black as it once was...

Remember Bi Ming Day, and going back further, Bi Ming Night? Some will, some won't. From the feedback I saw it seemed as though she was either loved with a passion or despised with utter contempt, particularly in the dark. What I'll say is this; if you loved her before I think she's ready to take things further, but if you despised her, perhaps this time you'll fall for her dark and wicked ways; her new Napalm perfume is pretty intoxicating... Or perhaps you'll just wish she had died along with all of the others that have been left by the wayside. Hopefully not! :mrgreen:

nightvision was used in vietnam war right? I vaguley remember bi ming to be too dark to fight without nightvision.

Awesome though a Cobra or attack Huey would be nice to see for the US forces given the typical NVA advantages in defense. Looks nice anyway.
It's only a 1km map, there's no need for those ;).

Sangin has been on hold for a while as I'm waiting for Rhino to finish up a MAJOR project, which involves an incredible amount of work for one person (clues can be found here, here and here New IKEA Store Opening in Helmand! - Project Reality Forums (http://www.realitymod.com/forum/blogs/2363/b298-new-ikea-store-opening-helmand.html)), plus a few other bits and pieces the map requires to finish it off. I'll definitely give you all an update once there is more to show you :)

After some persistent encouragement and support from K4rn, Afterdune, Rhino and many other members of the PR team I had a go at converting this as one of a few different projects to keep me going whilst I waited to be able to finish off Sangin. In the mean time, "You know where you are? You're in the jungle baby, and your gonna dieeee!" (preferably at the hands of my m60...)

I hope the low respawn times will not affect the gameplay, so that vehicles get spammed and wasted to mutch and teamwork/tactic suffer under it.

What i hope is that also marlin night layer and all the other night layers look as dark as theee, not just a different skybox and gound lit like a mofo. Otherwise OCD will drive me to suicide. :D

Pretty much. You can set a lot on fire for a while. Wouldn't advise to walk in there - or drive your jeep through it. It will hurt like crap. The M67 is very deadly, but not invincible.

And the sound....... the sound is pretty terrifying :o

As far as i can tell rhino is making extra objects for immersion in the maps, especially Afghanistan style maps (like yours). I'm just confused as to why you said it was "MAJOR" as it seems to not have a huge gameplay change. I feel like i'm just stating the obvious and am missing the point entirely. hopefully rhino might give us another hint?
p.s. that IKEA better be at camp bastion:D

The respawn of 95% of the assets is the same as they are in the current few releases, as all trucks and other light vehicles have had a 5min spawn for some time now. The only real difference is that this map only has light vehicles, with the exception of the Zippo and a PT-76, which in current PR settings if compared to a MBT would have a 20min respawn instead of a 15min, but they are both not MBTs, the Zippo is based on a Medium Tank, and the PT-76 is a Light Tank with only a 76mm gun (not a 120mm gun like most other MBTs)

The "IKEA" bit is only a small part of what I've been doing, it was just one of the first bits I needed to do for reasons I can't be asked to explain ;)


Oh and BTW Rank, since no one has said it yet, the map has too many trees like! :p

We'll test the night settings and see what a range of our testers think. I can see it really clearly on my monitor but I know others vary; I can always tweak it if a large number of folks are struggling to see anything at all in game. Its definitely a lot lighter than it was when we first released it! XD

Map does seems to be have lightened up a bit, its hard to find pics of the old version at night to compare the OP images to though, I am just going off memory here.

Bi ming was in 0.6, thats what ... ... 6 years ago ? !.

The question to me is the other way around? Will the M67's flame thrower be effective against the PT-76. Hopefully the terrain will allow the M67 to get into flame thrower range or else that thing is screwed.

Also that PBR looks like its gotten a face lift. Can't wait to to gun runs in those things always fun to have 6 mgs going at once. (the 5 on the boat and 1 more from your squad)

Wasn't it dropped due to the BF2 engine not doing NV right or something?Whats changed?

iirc the map's quality was only really good enough when in night mode, when night mode stopped working properly for various reasons, then the map wasn't deemed suitable anymore. However this version is truely excellent and we're all glad to see it reborn :)

It was dropped a few releases ago with a few other maps like OGT etc mainly because of its size since we where moving more towards larger maps but we feel now that 1km maps still have a place in PR and a lot of players miss it. + with the new overhaul it should be really good now! :D
