[WIP] IWI Negev Commando LMG

PR community - the model for the IDF LMG:

IWI Negev Commando LMG (150 round and 30 round versions - no sniper version guys )

The model is pretty much finished now:

LMG 150 round version: 2662 tris
Assault rifle 30 round version: 2410

These numbers will fall a bit cause I can find some areas I can improve
Also people will most definitly have some changes and such so I wont start unwrapping it yet, I'll wait untill people are done commenting on it

What up next?

Unwrapping -> Texturing -> Animation -> Coding

It looks like I will be doing everything but the coding - but I'll try to get that task aswell

I've taken the "do less detail" to heart and its progressing really fast now that I'm dealing with less detail (also because the stuff I've done so far has been fairly easy)

A good skin job will do wonders for some of the lost details in modelling - so like I said before I will de-detail the barrel, but that will be one of the very last things I will do cause its nice when you look in "perspective" and have some basic structur elements so the overall picture is much clearer if you are on the right track and such

Just did some quick bullets (where I tired to turn down the "sides" to a realtive edgy cylinder), but the tris just sky rocketed - as I expected.

I might have to turn them down even further, since they wont be the main feature of the gun. and I might have to make the bullet into a sharp cone instead of the "wannabe" bullet shape now.

What choice would an experinced modeller do in this case?

Foldet out, I'm just using the reference picture to get the dimensions right

I'm not going to code it, so I dont know if there will be an animation of it unfolding, like with the AK-74u from BF2...
Its still the first day of modelling

How many sides are the barrel cylinder, and the cylinders that make up the rounds? Looks a bit high...

KP still is the number one hottie, noobs.

A lot, but like I said above it was the first thing I made, and it will be re-done. Just curious: how many sides do you use when you make barrels/cylinders for BF2 models?

See your PM. A lot of sides isn't necessary.
