always fancied a NI map since the DC days.... there are a few great areas that if mapped would make for great close quarters..
even a couple of buildings with a mural on it would make us feel right at home

Unfortunately no matter how much I would love to see something on NI, the IRA aren't exactly a 'conventional' military force, no matter how much they pretend to be one lol. Therefore no insurgent force would really be suited to the core gameplay that BF2 has

Hell, we could make a new game type.

or

"Do the enemy commander's knees"

or

"Sell drugs to kids"

FOI there IS an Operation Flashpoint mod looking to do something like this. NIMod I think it's called.

I think a cool idea would be to have a mapper create Copehill Down (A British Army simulation town type thing that the army uses to train in), and have British vs British scenarios. The weapons would need a slight remodelling (add the little yellow bit on the end and readd muzzle flashes to represent blanks) and have blood removed as well as take out the rocket launcher, but it'd do well as a training mission. From what I've seen, Copehill Down looks like one awesome place to train and I think that'll make a nice map if a modeller/mapper is up for it.

Ok, I must say, a northern Ireland fron't would be rubbish. I come from Derry, we have a bit of history. People don't give a shi*e about the IRA anymore. It would not make a good mod and it would be extremly contraversial. Sorry man
