I used the search button and couldnt find anything under the search criteria "squad organisation"
After playing in a server today where my entire team consisted of Grenadiers it got me thinking, could the Devs implement a more sophisticated version of the already brilliant squad system. For example, the squads would already be there and would not need to be created, the headings could be as follows - Special Forces Squad (SF) This 6 man team consists of the following - x5 Spec-Ops x1 SAW Gunner Assault Squad Alpha (AT1) This 6 man team consists of the following - x1 Squad Leader, x1 Medic x1 Designated Marksman or Rifleman x1 SAW Gunner x1 Grenadier x1 Rifleman Assault Squad Bravo (AT2) Same as above Fire Support Squad Alpha (FS1) This 6 man squad consists of the following - x1 Squad Leader x3 SAW Gunners x2 Riflemen Fire Support Squad Bravo (FS2) Same as above Reconnaissance/Sniper Squad (RS) This 4 man (or 6 man if 4 man teams cannot be implemented) team consists of the following - x2 Snipers x2 Spec-Ops Engineer Squad (ES) This 6 man squad consists of the following - x1 Squad Leader x3 Engineers x2 Anti Armour/Anti Air It would clear up the score whoring, some squads will only be open after a certain number of players have joined, there wont be any "nade spamming" and it would "force" people to work in their teams |

Not possible.
And any way i would just have a squad system like this: 8 man squads, 2 fireteams F1 - Point man - medic - spare - spare F2 - Squad Leader - medic - support - spare Order System: 2 types : - simple, press T options, limited, but to 4/5 options e.g stop, move, fire ext. - Complex map based, open map, multiple waypoints can be placed, wide range of options e.g move, defend, clear area, recon ext. NOTE: SL normalies issues this type of order to both F1 and F2 but he can issue them seperately. Who has what order ability: Point man can issue the simple system, but it only appears to F1 Squad Leader can issue simple system to his F2 but he can use the complex system NOTE: the above system is almost perfect and any one who has a issue with it, please SAY so and prepare for a full on debate! |

I would think the sniper squad would be a 2 man squad if it were to be realistic, sniper + spotter...

Two Sniper teams consisting of a Sniper and a Spotter, Having angles on both sides would be important, if a Sniper cant hit an enemy soldier on one side, the Sniper on the other side can be told over VOIP and may have an angle from his side.

What this game needs is to be slowed down. so you can actually set up your ppositions and wait for the enemy and take your time. Instead of them sprinting around and then towards you, and the jumping and shooting.
Some rounds is just a complete chaos. Therefore time limits should be off, with atleast 400 tickets each. |

Cool idea, but thats handing alot of people SAW's. And there is a very good chance that that people would not use the squads and weapons they are given the way they are supose to. It might just put to much responiblity on indivdual people to make it work right. But if it worked it would be very cool to see in working action.

great idea eddie, but i'm not sure it would be implemented. Seeing as how this is a game in the first place more than a simulator (such as AA) you are taking the option away from the player of what they want to play. You are in a sense taking away the choice of how they play. One gut might be a medic in a squad, so that spot is filled. Yet then again, another guy might be a better medic than that dude, and is a crappy rifleman then. The idea, while feasible, would lead to gimping squads since each person is not getting their true opportunity at their best role. You have some guy that's like "OO OMGEZZ i'M l3ETz I'lL Be ThE MeDiCz aNd KeEp MySelfz ALiVez!!11!!one" and not do anything with the squad, when the guy that is now forced to be the AT spot, because (maybe all other spots are taken) would be better suited for the medic role. And whats to keep the sniper team from going off and being lonewolfs attacking a flag that is 3 flags away then actually helping the majority of the team?
I'm not bashing the idea, it's just it's not really feasible, since i know i usually change kits in the map from medic to AT to sniper depending on the situation at hand. There are those stupid snipers that go off and fight for flags that arent going to be able to be taken till 3 flags later, but once they die, the opportunity for a better sniper that is more team oriented is there to maybe have a chance next to show their stuff. It's just putting too many limitations on a game that is already limited in areas. |
