Default Free floating irons and driver suggestions.

I would really like to see free floating iron sites. In case you are not aware of what this is, it is a system where your iron sites can move about the screen without the screen moving itself. If you move the weapon near the edge of the screen it moves the screen. This allows for a more natural feel to aiming as opposed to having a ''crosshair'' in the center of the screen.

I would also like to see drivers get more points awarded instead of just getting penaltys for losing vehicles. I have a friend who likes to drive around while I shoot in Tanks and APCs and the only reward he gets is a negative score and "Driver" position on the score board, while I get 300+ points and 40+ kills and about 3-4 positions on the scoreboard.

Sorry if these have been mentioned before, I was unable to find any threads with the jargon I know.

Don't know if this is within the engines limitations TBH.

LMAO!!!

I dont see how the engine limits this. It was done with the mod infiltration back on the UT99 engine, and that is a game with static crosshairs as well.

BF2, and Unreal Tournament don't use the same engine. What is possible in one, can not be possible in another. Much of the BF2 engine is hardcoded and not modable. If the DEVs of this mod had the source code, then it would be a different story, but EA will never give it away.

What is possible is to have the animation of the iron sights move back and forth (like when you are walking and in iron sights), but it would still shoot to the middle of the screen. From what I understand, it is impossible for a weapon not to shoot towards the middle of the screen in BF2.

I hope you guys are wrong. I dont know if I will stay playing this game long unless they get rid of the crosshair, you know the idiots who put a dot of tape or whatever in the center of the screen to get one. Or, they improve armor to a degree that I feel its realisticly portrayed so that I can be happy with at least one aspect of the combat.

unreal engine = mod friendly
BF2 engine = not mod friendly

Im afraid that this is not possible...

Hmmm, the driver point system seems interesting. Perhaps a modded version of the point scoring system of 'Driver Kill assist point' should be put in place where the driver gets 50% of the points that the gunner makes from the kill. by this i dont mean deducted from the Gunners score, just the equivelant to 50% of the gunners points for kill should be added. or perhaps team points like when a medic or rifleman does his healing/resupplying duties.
