btw I came up with some nice large mountainscapes with terragen, its easy to import the data to bf2 editor and makes for some real sweat terrains.
Please god not mountains. Like cities mountains narrow the range of manouvre dramatically, funnelling the combatants into narrow bottlenecks that turn into brutal killing zones that punish and destroy squadplay and reward those with an anarchic thoughtless approach.

DO YOU WNAT DECENT TACTICS ????

YES - then you want open ground, with fields, hill and small forests (just liek OFP - alittle copying will make PR proper quality)

NO - then you want narrow streets, alleyways, tall moutain and valleys.

This is not 100% correct BUT till i see more maps with slightly varying terrain - few like Ejod (but desert and town are pretty seperated) we need more maps with open ground, few ubran areas and fields.
Come out of a wood, in a front of you is a field full of enemies who are moving up from hail bail to hail bail and sneekign through the wheat, while your SAW guner pours machine gun fire into the field is truely and excilerating experince.

NOt mountains that are too steep to move across, you got to be able move around and terragen will make a realy good realistic terrain and you can set how steep, etc it is. If your making a BIG map you got to have some variety and combo of mountains, farms, fields, overgrowth and populated areas.

end of day im sure whatever you do will be good.

MEC troops have several caves to respawn in which surround the valley in mountainous regions, allowing them to ambush the US reinforcements as they navigate snaking mountain roads.

So which interest you most?

The Afgan Taliban map with caves sounds really interesting as is, although I have an idea:

You could build it as a combination AaS/Objective; If and when US secures village in AaS mode, then map resorts to objective mode where US Spec Opps forces try and destroy caves with c-4 elliminating them as spawn points.

In this scenerio during the objective mode the Taliban are allowed to try and retake the village (forcing US to defend village as well as assault caves). Although all the caves destroyed in objective mode are still non spawnable if Taliban wins back village and map resorts back to AaS.

If you do a meeting engagement map, can you put in a whole stack of those camo bunkers like the one hiding near the rice field in Kyongan'Ni?
I really liked that. It made a nice touch.

Bigger maps are typically better. Urban combat is not too fun in PR because of all the SAW prone spammers.

More Jabal type maps would be best.

Ok. I'm tooling around with Afgan, since its a lot of barren terrain and should require less work. I've gotten a terrain generated and will see how it walks.
