Where do you get real world terrain data?

Agreed on #4. We have enough urban maps now and it has basically been proven that they are not the best or most realistic maps for PRMM's realism, teamwork, scale, etc. unless you really do a lot of work on the spawns and stuff.

Actually, I have really yet to find a good balanced urban map except for the ones in production like Dunkhunt's and 2 more.

Long range in jungles and farms is the best.(#4)

I'm very sick of urban maps as well. I want some maps with some air power! Jets & attack helis plz. IMHO PR *really* needs some big maps with massive vehicular battles going on. Dont get me wrong--I love the infantry combat more than any other mod, but the lack of air vehicle combat is really hurting.

That being said it doesn't look like Nikov is working on a map of this type, so my vote goes to Afghan.

I'd like a huge maxed out map of rolling plains with all sorts of interesting defillades and a winding river that zig zags back and forth with a broad ford and a couple bridges to fight over.

It's got large farms with some rural roads and big fields with ditches...like the old Ghost Recon mission where you have to go to these farm houses to rescue the pilot and his warrant officer from the Serbs.

A honeycomb of mud walls you can just shoot over, with drying huts for raisins and dates and store huts for opium. Narrow alleys you can just fit an APC down to pump some heavy fire into the MEC positions..just endless walled farms as far as the eye can see in every direction with a maze of roads so that the enemy is always retreating to other walls, or flanking you using mud walls to your sides..like the video of the Canadians fighting in Afghanistan that was showed here...

I'm loving #5. Sounds a bit like Kiyong Ni' (sp?) and I like that map alot. Having a mountainous terrain would be cool.

voted afghan, good luck, look at videos and photos. It needs mountains, good vegitation and villages, with a nice rural feel. Good luck in your creation.

btw I came up with some nice large mountainscapes with terragen, its easy to import the data to bf2 editor and makes for some real sweat terrains.
