Sort of. There's a difference between Marksman and Sniper.

Naturally, don't mean to brag but i just got awarded "N.R.A Marksman" a wee bit off topic but none in the less. That's cool as long as that is settled. Lovely

Just to clear this up...
Marksman A marksman is mostly to be found in a military context. He is trained to shoot precisely with a certain type of rifle. A marksman should not be confused with a sniper. While snipers are intensively trained to master field craft and camouflage, these skills are not required for marksmen. There are differences in role and training that affect doctrines and equipment. Snipers rely almost exclusively on more accurate but slower-firing bolt-action rifles while a marksman can effectively utilize a faster-firing, but less accurate semi-automatic rifle. A Sniper The term emphasizes fieldcraft and skills of camouflage as well as marksmanship, and is typically used for infantry soldiers so skilled, who specialize in killing selected enemies from concealment with rifles at long ranges. I didn't know all this, i searched it in wiki. |
