My point is pretty soon if you make it super realistic you are going to have to start training the players. Your throwing a realistic mod and non experienced players togather.

But remember everyone your being critical about this game play and thats ok but make sure you understand that these DEV's are working for the man... for free.
I am only offering constructive criticism and trying to present some positive ideas that could possibly help the mod. I fully understand that these guys are continually improving on the best free mod around at the moment and I am not trying to detract from that.

PS : "You're throwing a realistic mod and non experienced players together". That is a very good point.

"Pistols" is covering a lot of ground. I dont mean to be a stickler but at close range body armor isnt necessarily stopping anything. Even if the armor does stop the round, you may well have broken ribs etc depending on where you get hit. I know this is all for nothing and I am nitpicking but I think the point is really if the weapon is that useless, why have it at all? I mean why not give us a few extra grenades or a few mags instead?

What several people, including myself are getting at is the fact that

A : There is no mention of any body armor in this game.

B : It is annoying, having pumped several rounds into someone only to have them turn around unphased and kill you. I think we can all agree that armour may stop bullets but I think 5 rounds in the chest may interrupt your concentration at the very least.

C. It is very true that ceramic armour can stop 7.62 x 39 rounds at a distance. I totally agree with that. So put it in the game and have a speed penalty or something for people who want to wear it.

Im all for a fun game with a realistic balance. It doesnt have to be exactly like real combat, but realism and fun can coexist.

forget about chest hits on body armor, i'm talking FACE HITS at very few feet! even that is out of the question. if you have a rifle and you get shot IN THE FACE you aim at whoevers shooting at your Nivea-lotion-firmed face and kill him with no more than TWO 5.56/7.62 bullets to whatever part of the body you aimed at (doesnt have to be a head shot).

I think that body armor, distances, one's ability to move after having one's armor withstand gunshots, and where bullets hit should be factors in gameplay.

Headshots should be one shot kills, regardless of the weapon employed, no question mate.

Soldiers don't wear helmets for show. A silenced pistol round to the helmet most likely would not penetrate.

But the same guy wouldn't turn around in .02 seconds and mow you down with his SAW either.

Anything that goes towards realism away from BF2 is a plus IMO. That said PRMM games can be bloody awful where as BF2 games can merely be bad.

In time this won't be an issue but PRMM dictates a lot more attention to detail with regards to map design then is currently present. The combination of a higher damage model and not enough cover or too many vehicles or too many choke points can ruin a map and gameplay.

That said the main thing to remember is PRMM is still growing so everything will be out of sync for a while.
