Default DCON fan got a problem?

Well today I caught wind of the release of the Desert Conflict Alpha. Sucessor to the legendary DC and I was really disturbed to read this.

Who would not want more accurate guns?

Cmon guys, we know that ridiculously inaccurate weapons HELP bunny hoppers and other noobs.

Double the accuracy of all non sniper rifle weapons. Seriously, it would make the mod so much greater....

PR promised accurate weapons, and some of the PR players even seem to think those are accurate, or even realistic.... they aren't. PR got deleted a a week after downloading because the devs have apparently never fired a gun in real life.

Not that you need to of course, to make fun accuracy.....but cmon guys, they wouldnt have even bothered to make automatic weapons if they were only useful at 10-20 feet! They would have simply kept using shotguns, which are actually useful at that range in reality, and have been for decades.... since WWII

I am trained for using inaccurate vanilla weapons. I fire in two round bursts while stationary and using the iron sight.

And the AK hit maybe once or twice in half a clip of doing that.

So i had to use my vanilla pistol skills to kill the guy instead.

So far, the AK is worse than it was in vanilla, both at range and close in.

hehe .. lol .. this guys is obviously a twit. Based on readong some excerpts from his post on the DCon forums, I'd be surprised if he's fired more real guns irl than I have. And I highly doubt he's served (or serving) in active duty conflict areas as many of our mil advisers and testers are.

DCon looks like a fun mod if you like that sort of play. I think signing up to be the namesake of one of the most revolutionary and successful mods of all time is a recipe for disappointment... no matter what you do.

Cheers!

Its really irritating how they claim that they are better than PR when its really apples and oranges. I'm glad you Devs decided to play hardball with realism and alienate idiots like those.

Go check out the forums. PR gets mentioned in bad light more than a few times. Its really cute considering how they are dissing Desert Conflict too

I ended up installing DCON after a few minutes playing, it personally didn't deliver for me. Unlike PR, which has a very polished and professional feel to it, you could tell what was the content they added themselves. The gun handling just felt like Vanilla BF2 again, which I totally hate. I suppose it really is an apples/oranges thing, and I prefer PR.

A) Who cares? He's not a dev.

B) He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. If you cannot hit anything in PR greater than 20 ft you have issues.

Now, he is right from what I made of that post. Shottys do suck donkey. But we've been assured (afaik) that they will be fixed next release.

BF2 just won't ever get to the point we all want it. No penetration values. No great ballistics. It just ain't doable.

PR is doing a great job where it can.

Forget this guy.

i posted and told him to practice shooting.

they are apples and oranges, youre right. and this is the first release for dcon. right now weapons' accuracy and power is a hot issue. half the people want bf2 half want dc. personally it seems like a no brainer (DC FTW), but apparently its more complicated to some people.
