I've heard a lot of complaints about the tag distance and that it might be increased in .41 or later to reduce friendly fire/TKs. Is this a good idea?
I think not! This is the Project Reality Mod, not the project-omiscient-heads-up-display-so-I-don't-even-have-to-be-aware-of-what's-going-on around-me-to-play Mod. |

I think it's about right at the moment - if the uniforms are different enough I don't think this would be a major problem

Other day i was playing being a squad leader under the enemy base so my squad could respaw on me and take the flag then a smacktard who didnt saw the Big Blue Ball with a number on his Minimap(he was close enough to see it) started firing at me
I had no choice but to fire back and killed him for the sake of my squad What happened next? instant punish He started firing at me and i have just defended myself and he punishes me? I was able to use both mine and his field dressing and my squad was able to respaw at me and grab the flag i think people need to spot before shooting I like no tags better but there should be some sort of punishment for shooting squad leaders =) that way people would think before shooting Make it like when you kill 2 friends on 1 round you are instant kicked but can instant rejoin That way people will think before shooting and the game will be more tactical |

even shorter is not a good idea nor realistic since you'd recognize your partners in the front

The area tag distance should be slightly increased for squad members.

Really I think tk punishing should be reworked. I've had to TK a few people in defense because they were firing at me.
What I would like to see is to make it easier to find out if someones on your team. Currently you have to air for a very small area of the player for there tag to appear and it usually takes to long to show up. |

This is something I definitely don't want changed. They've gotten just about the perfect balance in my opinion.
If you're not certain that the little black figure you see in the distance is a hostile, use your minimap or hover your crosshair over him for a moment. Sometimes that's a moment too long and it will get you killed... Too bad. That's combat. He clearly knew you were the enemy because he was paying more attention to the state of play as it existed. So once again in summary, DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT TAGS. |

We should take points out and just show the result at the end of the round like already discussed.
With the tag change I catch myself looking a lot more to the minimap. If we take it out, the action pace will be reduced a lot and I like that idea. The way the tags show up now is fine for me. |

one major teamplay factor that could work very nicely in this is to have a 'report in' function which highlights your position on the 3d map briefly
That way when a squadleader is trying to position his troops he can ask them to report in and the reply would identify their friendly status and position around him and to the other squadmates |
