we're still hoping people are interested. I dont know quite why the thread has kinda died though. We might just be waiting for Jonny to finish his map but his got exams and stuff now so his gotta prioritize those.

I have posted in the thread for the map Cold Dawn, but have had no reply.

I have the statics and GPO.con files done, I am still trying to acquire a renamed version of Qwai though because I dont know how to rename maps properly.

if you have problems getting the qwai map why not use a decommissioned map like airport etc..

Im not sure its 100% right but it could work
(cos its not new map its just qwai modification)

Anyone who thinks they can rename a map please try, dont worry about the gameplay files, just upload your attempt. I have to add the files in the right place and then upload it to a server for testing.

quick way
we have original qwai1 map so lots off textures over\under growth
still will be taken from qwai1 folder
but it doesn`t matter

copy qwai1 to some folder qwai2
rename & edit qwai2\info\qwai1.desc to qwai2\info\qwai2.desc

to

<name> Qwai River Mod </name>

Ive changed GSID just for incase

now I got two qwai maps and could change GPOs in client & server zip

That could work out actually.

I was saving it in the terrain mode in the editor, so the paths to the textures screwed up.

I will try this soon.

Sorry jonny - kind of forgot about this due to my problems with the editor, but just seen the thread. Im not sure about renaming maps, but afaik you just need to edit all the .cons so that it says "new name " instead of qwai, most important is that the "new name" in the .cons matches the folder name. Check all the .cons, because things like sky.con have paths with the map name.

It shouldnt take long, and Im pretty sure thats the only way to do it, theres no way afaik in the editor.

I read on the editor forums you need to go into terrain mode, save as a new map there and then paint a tiny bit of terrain and save it again. But I cant paint terrain. If it was as easy as editing the .con files I would have done it easily because I have tried a while ago (before I had the editor) with Basrah, and it didn't work.
